PLEASE READ THRU COMPLETELY BEFORE BIDDING OR ASKING QUESTIONS. It is by great regret that i am in need of selling my dream car. I drove a 66 chevy II SS in high school and I bought this car a few years back in hopes of making this car into a very nice street rod. I have fixed up several cars in the past and I have made some beautiful high end cars to sell. I was saving this particular car for me. to fix up when I retired. Well things didn't work out the way I planned. I was forced to retire early due to an injury. and now I can not afford to work on the car. nor am I physically able to do so. My dreams of fixing my car up. and enjoying retirement driving my car to shows have vanished. And I am no fancy company executive or some famous celebrity's good friend that's lucky enough to be on overhaulin and get his car done. I am just a plain ol retired cop that got kicked to the curb because he got hurt and couldn't perform his job any longer due to my health. I HAVE SET A RESERVE ON THE CAR. PLEASE DONT ASK WHAT IT IS. JUST BID WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD. I AM NOT TRYING TO GET RICH OFF THIS CARAND I FIND IT HARD TO EVEN HAVE TO SELL IT. I JUST WANT TO GET WHAT I PAID FOR IT AND A COUPLE HUNDRED EXTRA. AND PLEASE DON'T WAIT TO BID AT THE LAST MINUET AND MISS OUT AND THEN EMAIL ME WITH AN OFFER. IF I HAVE TO I WILL JUST COVER UP THE CARAGAIN AND FIGURE SOMETHING OUT. THE CAR: 1966 CHEVYII 2 DOOR SPORT COUPE. ORIGINAL V8. AUTO CAR. STEERING COLUMN STILL HAS THE STUB FOR THE SHIFTER. AS THE DASHHAS THE INDICATOR. BY THE LOOKS OF THE STEERING LINKAGE IT WAS A POWER STEERING CAR. AS MENTIONED I BOUGHT THE CAR A FEW YEARS BACK. I FOUND IT. IN SOMEONES SHOP ON A LIFT . COVERED WITH DUST. MY EYES ALMOST LEFT MY HEAD. AT THE TIME THE CAR HAD NO REAR DIFFERENTIAL. I MADE A DEAL FOR THE CAR. SAVED UP FOR IT. AND WENT BACK IT WAS STILL THERE WAITING FOR ME. AND I BOUGHT IT. TURNS OUT IT WAS AN OLD RACE CAR OUT OF CALIFORNIA. IT HAD FIBERGLASS FENDERS ON IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT. IT TOOK FOREVER TO FIND SOME ORIGINAL REPLACEMENTS BUT I DID. THE DRIVER SIDE IS A LITTLE ROUGH. ALTHOUGH NOT RUSTED. THE METAL IS VERY STRONG. AND IT IS VERY WORKABLE. THE PASSENGER SIDE FENDER HAS A COUPLE OF MINOR DENTS. AGAIN. VERY WORKABLE. THE REAR SUSPENSION OF THE CAR HAS BEEN MINI TUBBED. THE REAR SPRINGS HAVE BEEN MOVED INWARD. AND THE INNER FENDER WELLS STRETCHED INWARDSOME. LIKE I MENTIONED. THE CAR HAD NO REAR DIFF. . ALTHOUGH I FOUND ONE OUT OF A 67 NOVA WAGON. THAT I INSTALLED PRIOR TO MY INJURY. SO THE CAR HAS ROOM FOR A WIDER TIRE OUT BACK WITH THE CORRECT OFF SET. I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO CHECK THE GEAR RATIO SO THATS UNKNOWNAND I AM QUITE SURE IT IS NOT A POSSI. BUT I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THAT EITHER. AS YOU CAN SEE. THE FRONT SUSPENSION HAS BEEN MODIFIED. I AM ASSUMING IT WAS RUNNING A BIG BLOCK. BY THE LOOKS OF THE SHOCK TOWERSAND. THE FIREWALL HAS BEEN MODIFIED. ALTHOUGH DONE VERY NICE. I AM SURE IT WAS RUNNING FENDER WELL HEADERS AS WELL. THE CAR DOES HAVE DISC BRAKES AND LINE LOCK. AS WELL AS A DOUBLE RES. MASTER CYLINDER AND ADJUSTABLE PROPORTIONING VALVE. THE INTERIOR MAINTAINS ITS ORIGINAL DASH AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IT HAS THE PADDED DASH OPTION. IT HAS ONE RACE SEAT AND THATS IT. NO REAR SEAT. ALTHOUGH THE REAR SECTION OF THE CAR REMAINS UN-CUT AND IF YOU CAN FIND A SEAT IT CAN BE INSTALLED. NO PROBLEM. THE CAR DOES HAVE A ROLL CAGE AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS. (I WAS GOING TO JUST CUT IT OUT. MYSELF)ALL THE WIRING FROM THE FUSE BOX AND UNDER THE DASH SEEM TO BE THERE. THE WIRING HARNESS FROM THE FUSE BOX TO ALL THE LIGHTSIS THERE AND LOOKS GOOD. IT IS MISSING THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS. I WAS JUST GOING TO DO A PAINLESS SYSTEM THROUGH OUT ANYWAY)THE CAR IS ALL STEEL EXCEPT THE FIBERGLASS COWL HOOD. WHICH IS A HEAVY HOOD AND CAN BE PUT ON HINGES. IF YOU USE THE RIGHT SPRINGS. AND THE TRUNK IS A FIBERGLASS PIECE WHICH IS ALREADY ON THE ORIGINAL HINGES. I AM ASSUMING THAT AT ONE POINT THE CAR HAD FIBERGLASS DOORS. BECAUSE THE DOORS THAT ARE ON THE CAR ARE A DIFFERENT COLOR. AND THE DOORGLASS IS SHADED. I CAN TELL BECAUSE THIS IS AN ORIGINAL WHITE CAR. AND SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN PRIMERED OVER ITS ORIGINAL WHITE PAINT. THERE IS NO. LAYER UPON LAYER OF PAINT ON THIS CAR. AND THERE IS NO BONDO. AND NO RUST. ON THIS CAR. NOR DOES IT HAVE ANY PATCH PANEL WORK ON IT. THIS BODY IS A VIRGIN BODY. THATS WHY I WAS SAVING THIS CAR. JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES OF THE FLOOR. I HAD IT CLEANED AND SPRAYED IN BEDLINER SPRAY TO PRESERVE IT. NOT THAT IT SITS OUTSIDE. BECAUSE THE CAR IS IN MY GARAGE)NOT ONE SINGLE PATCH ONE THIS CAR ANYWHERE. NONE ON THE FLOORS. BODY OR TRUNK!!!!!!I AM NOT SAYING THIS CAR IS PERFECT. BECAUSE ITS NOT. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS. THE QUARTERS NEED WORK. AS DO THE FENDERS . AS I MENTIONED. BUT! IN MY OPINION VERY WORKABLE. AND DO NOT NEED REPLACED!HERE IS THE DEAL!!I BOUGHT A GASSER STRAIGHT AXLE KIT FROM SPEEDWAY. I REMEMBER AS A KID. MY BROTHER RAN AROUND IN A 1966 CHEVELLE SS WITH A STRAIGHT CHROME AXLE. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE NEATEST THING!WELL MY DREAM WAS TO RE-LIVE THAT MEMORY. BUT IN MY OWN CAR. BUT. WELL YOU KNOW THE STORY!!ANYWAY I BOUGHT A GASSER. STRAIGHT AXLE KIT FROM SPEEDWAY. COMPLETE. INCLUDING THE DISC BRAKE KIT AND ENGINE MOUNTS (NEEDS THE CUSHIONS)I BOUGHT A SET OF BBC HOOKER SUPER COMP FENDERWELL HEADERS. AND A SET OF ===TRUE=== E/T GASSER FRONT WHEELS. "NOT THE ROCKET REMAKES"THEY ARE WRAPPED IN BRAND NEW HOOSIER RUBBER. EEP IN MIND ALL THIS GASSER STUFF IS BRAND NEW UN WRAPPED. I WILL GIVE THE BUYER OF THE CAR THE OPTION OF BUYING THE GASSER STUFF AT A GOOD DEAL. THE GASSER STUFF IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE AUCTION. JUST BRING THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION. WELL I DONT HAVE A TRAILER TO TAKE THE CAR INTO TOWN AND GET IT DONE. BACK WHEN I WAS ON THE FORCE. I RAN A CHECK ON THECAR BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AND ITS GOOD.
