eBay template information@RKMotorsCharlotte. com 5527 Lakeview Road. Charlotte. NC. 28269. US 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS Frame Off Built Camaro RS Pro Touring L71 427/525 HP Tri-Power V8 5 Speed A/C Year: 1968 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Blue Mileage: 204 Transmission type: 5 Speed Manual Engine: 427 L71 V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle info There are two guaranteed ways to stop traffic with a classic Camaro. You can take the traditional path and buy a highly optioned original car that's fit for a plastic bubble. Or. you can pick up an old road warrior. grab a bunch of vendor catalogs and build the nastiest resto-mod your money can buy. Take this tough F1 for example. Sporting a spry 427/5-speed drivetrain. upgraded suspension components and a classic Black interior. this Chevy is a near perfect combination of vintage feel and cutting edge technologically. Forget some stuffy trailer queen that's constantly framed in little red ropes. And forget a 'me too' modern car that'll depreciate faster than its 5-year payoff. With this impressive coupe. you can truly have your cake and eat it too!If your goal is to build a clean custom. you can't go wrong by starting out with first-generation Camaro lines. This car's ground-up. nut-and-bolt restoration. performed by All American Muscle Cars. took the 'softer' angles of a 1968 Rally Sport and sculpted them into a retro jaw-dropper that's sure to command respect anywhere it goes. A big part of this classic's appeal comes from its traditional Marina Blue paint. That pigment shows well from all angles. accenting solid. arrow-straight body panels. Those panels appear to be original pieces. with the exception of a fiberglass. Nickey-style hood. And all those pieces. fitting much better than they did from the factory. make a great first impression! With its timeless 2+2 proportions and modernist body panels the first generation Camaro is already an inherently good-looking design. At the front of this sweet '68. a monochromatic Rally Sport grille hangs a vertical "RS" emblem between Detroit Speed headlights. a bright bumper and clear parking lamps. Behind that grille. a lightweight hood leads the eye to fresh glass that's framed in straight stainless trim. At the sides of that glass. correct mirrors and traditional door handles perfectly complement chrome fender emblems. factory marker lamps and standard rocker guards. And at the back of the car. Rally Sport-exclusive taillights illuminate an ornate fuel filler. a small "427" emblem and a second chrome bumper. Pop the car's hood and you'll find a 427 cubic inch L71 V8 that twists roughly 525 horsepower into roughly 500 lb. /ft. of strip-slaying torque. At the top of the mill. a chrome. correctly decaled air cleaner funnels wind in to three Demon carburetors that. along with a big aluminum intake. comprise a Barry Grant 'Triple D' induction system. That system feeds date-correct heads. which hang roller-tip rockers between chrome valve covers. roller lifters and a roller cam. At the back of those heads. Procomp ignition combines with American Autowire wiring to jolt an aftermarket distributor and Accel Extreme 9000 Ferro-Spiral spark plug wires. Beneath those wires. coated Flowtech headers jettison spent gases in to a healthy. true-dual exhaust system. And. at the front of those headers. a beefy aluminum radiator keeps everything in good. working order thanks to dual electric puller fans. Naturally. bright orange paint covers the block from its oil pan all the way to its valve covers and. as always. looks great against a Satin Black engine bay. And niceties such as braided hoses. a Sanden AC compressor and a rebuilt master cylinder ensure this retro Chevy runs just as good as it looks. Take a look under this F1 and a rock-solid chassis stares right back. In the center of the floor. a Tremec TKO600 5-speed spins a posi-traction differential and big. 4. 10 gears via GM's proven 12-bolt rear end. The front suspension is a Martz Chassis subframe that features urethane bushings. tubular control arms and power rack-and-pinion steering. Out back. CalTracs-augmented leafs ensure power is effectively applied to the pavement. Stops come courtesy of four Wilwood calipers and four drilled and slotted rotors. The soundtrack is provided by Mandrel-bent pipes. which follow an X-shaped crossover with polished Magnaflow mufflers. Rolling stock is purely traditional. as 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust IIs spin 215/50 Kuhmo Ecstas in front of 255/50 Kuhmo Ecstas. And everything. from the car's stainless fuel tank to its Hyperco coil-overs. appears to be restoration-fresh. The Standard. Black interior hiding behind this Camaro's small. lightweight doors illustrates the true. no frills intentions of Chevrolet's original pony car. Its bucket seats were restored with new backs. new foam and correct reproduction covers that look and feel fantastic. In front of those seats. a fresh black dash exhibits no signs of warping or cracking. framing Dakota Digital gauges and controls for a Vintage Air climate system. At the base of that dash. fresh carpet and premium Dynamat insulation centers of a chrome Hurst shifter between bold "RS" branded floor mats. That seat. dash and carpet trifecta is embedded between a tight headliner. familiar door panels and bright stainless trim. In front of the driver. a futuristic steering wheel spins silver spokes around a "camaro" branded horn button. And behind the passengers. a correctly restored trunk seals a new mat under a fresh tire and jack combo. The sale of this awesome Chevy includes a binder of restoration photos and a small stack of component literature. These days. nearly any first-generation Camaro will turn at least a few heads. Factor in classic aesthetics. legendary 427 power and a modernized chassis. and you're well on your way to dominating the local show scene. If that sounds like a good way to spend weekends. don't miss the chance to bring home this incredible Rally Sport!
