Description for Chevrolet Impala 1960
Selling my 1960 Chevy Biscayne sedan project. The vehicle runs and drives, ut really needs a full restoration. The previous owner did some inconsistant paint work as you can see. The body has a lot of rust throughout. The seats all need reupholstered and new door panels. Floor boards and trunk need new metal. The frame is pretty solid, ave one three foot section on the passenger side trunk needs a new portion replaced. Its rusted out from the top of the rear axle to the end of the trunk. Would be a fun winter project. The car has all matching numbers. It has 3.55 gears in the rear. Has the three speed on the tree manual transmission that shifts smoothly. Clutch feels really good. Has the 235cu inline six with the original two barrel carb. It runs really strong with no noises. All the brakes are working. Looks like someone ran some new brake lines and bypassed the brake proportion valve. The exhaust is missing after the down pipe. The original gas tank is gone and replaced by a 5 gallon marine tank in the trunk. All the lights appear to be working, ave the dash lights. Suspension feels decent when driving. The ignition switch does not always work. Looks like most of the trim is present. The prior owner painted over all the trim. Car has the original 14" steel rims. I put two 1964 Impala rims on the back with good tires so I could drive it. I do still have the original rims that are included.
Like I said, his is a project that's going to need a lot of restoration work. It's a really rare car so it's definitley worth the effort. Or it would make an awesome rat rod. The majority of the work will be body work. It's pretty sound mechaniclly. Or you could just drive it as it is till it falls apart! I was originally going to part this car out as its worth well over three grand in just parts. Please email me with any questions you may have. Im in the process of painting the car a consistant matte black primer. Im in London Kentucky. The car will have to be picked up here. I have a driver who could give you a good rate on delivery if interested. Car is as is, here is condition. I have a clean KY title with actual mileage as: 93,000.
