Description for Chevrolet C-10 1970
This truck is a C-20, ot a C-10 which was more common. For those of you who don't know, he main difference is a ¾ ton (C 20) vs. ½ ton (C 10), hich is created by a stronger drivetrain, eefed up frame, lug wheels, arger differential, nd stiffer suspension. Since this truck is on a full air bag system now, he stiffer ride is taken out of the equations. What's left is one tough truck with plenty of low end torque.Truck Overview: 1970 C-20 Long Bead, WD, 6" Steel Wheels, ebuilt 350 V8 motor, ebuilt 350 3 speed automatic transmission
Upgrades: Edelbrock intake manifold, delbrock 4 barrel carburetor, ew interstate battery, pgraded exhaust with twin Flowmaster mufflers, rand new 225/70/R16 tires, ew front disc brake with drop spindles, ew brake booster/master cylinder, ull air suspension with two Viair compressors and two tanks both mounted underneath the bed, EI distributor, ecent tune, nd C-Notch professionally installed in the rear.
This truck has also just been registered ($400) until November of 2016 and is fitted with original time period correct black California plates.
The paint is the first thing you will notice and is unbelievable. All original with just the right amount of wear from years of being on the road and the interior is in amazing shape for a truck of this age.
With the combination of drop spindles, ear notch and air suspension, he truck drops so much I had to cut out space for the massive differential to fit through the bed. You will see a ton of different concepts of how people tackle this but I think I came up with one of best. I scoured the Army Surplus stores until I finally came across this authentic vintage Howitzer Artillery box and attached two vintage ammunition boxes to both sides creating one awesome storage box, ench seat, r ice chest for your favorite beverages.
Attention was also paid to the smaller details as well starting with the engine compartment. Knowing that everyone loves the retro look, stripped away all of the chrome accessories and swapped out with new value covers and air cleaner housing which was painted to match the light tan interior, ringing it all together. From here I started to tighten up little odds and ends such as clean up the wiring, egreasing the major components, nd removing any unsightly and unnecessary add-ons. Everything works in the interior including the light, ipers, igh beam floor button, love box, shtray,. . . There isn't a functioning heater or AC but the components are there if you wanted to get it up and running.
What you're left with is one great looking, nd great running, ruck which is sure to be a constant conversation piece for many years to come. I am sure the next owner will also find a few ways to make this one their own without having to break the bank.
