1951 Chevy 3100 pick up
The term BARN FIND is said alot but hardly ever true. after dealing with old cars and trucks my whole life this is probably my first one. I was buying some straw from a local farmer and just happend to ask if he had any old cars or trucks in the woods. come to find out this was accross from his house in a barn where it had been for the last 30+ years. The truck was his cousins and he had started to "restore" it 30 years ago but really just took it apart and when he moved away he put in the barn. it was his grandfathers before that. The farmer was able to contact the cousin and i was able to buy the truck.
Once i got the truck i put the front end back on it as all the parts takin off where in the bed of the truck. i also hosed it off to see the patina. I have done a bunch of these 48-55 trucks and this one has the best cab i have ever had. It is a 5 window, he floors are excelent orignals with no rot. cab corners and lower firewall that are useally rusted are even good on this cab. the fenders do have some dents as it was a farm truck but cab and doors are pretty nice. when i got the truck we couldnt find the bumpers but sense has found them so does come with bumpers that are not in the pics. the orignal motor and trans was there in another barn but i didnt take it as i didnt plan on using it. if buyer would like that i can pick up the orignal motor(but cant put in truck for shipping,maybe could put in bed). orignal seat is with the truck in the bed of some of the pics. I would love to build this truck but have 4 other projects going on and it would be a while before i could get to so i figured i would give someone else the chance to build. the color of the truck orignal is a dark green and has an awesome patina if anyone has some orignal dark green fenders i would buy them and keep till a later date. The truck is sold with a bill of sale only for parts as title was lost long ago.
