Don't know how many of these were made but being 66 years old there probably are not very many left in existence and in the great condition this one is in. A real head turner, riving down the street or on display as part of a collection. Chevrolet restyled their pickup line in 1939 and many say that they feel this was the best looking truck so far in Chevrolet's history. The odometer currently shows 11,111. This is NOT the actual mileage. As you can tell from the pictures it has been restored inside and out. Around 6 years ago. It is painted a beautiful two tone Gray and Black. It has been used a few times since being painted and the bed area does have a few dings here and there. The engine has been replaced with a modified Chevy 350 Cu. In. V8 and paired to a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission to allow it to be a reliable daily driver which runs great. The brakes system has been redone and now has front disc brakes The 1939-1940 Chevrolet trucks received a restyled and reengineered cab and front sheet metal. These new trucks were by far the best looking trucks in Chevrolet Division's history. The new cab was designed for driver comfort and convenience. A more attractive and functional instrument panel was easier for the driver to use. Controls like choke and throttle were recessed at the lower edge of the panel at its center and the instruments were clustered for easy reading. Seat backs in the cabs were made nearly three-inches lower and the cab provided more headroom. Softer seat springs had about two-inches of "give" to get the additional headroom. Seats were made three-inches wider, hich enabled three men to sit abreast. All 1939 models had longer wheelbases: 113 1/2-inches for the half-ton; 123 3/4-inches for the 3/4- and one-tons and 133 and 158 1/2-inches for the heavy models. There were no additions or deletions to model offerings for 1939. Although beyond the scope of our interests, hevrolet did launch its first factory-built cab-over-engine trucks in 1939. There is some peeling on some of the chrome. These tires are brand new and installed on Dec. 15th of 2015. They are under warranty with Discount Tire. In 2012 the fuel pump was replaced, nd the tank was drained and cleaned. At the same time the intake and carburetor were both replaced. In 2014 the alternator was replaced and the charging system was retested.
