Description for Chevrolet G20 Van 1978
This auction is for a 1978 G20 Chevy Van Ice Cream Truck! This high top camper van has been converted to an ice cream truck for many years. The exterior does have some rust and gray primer area and the truck would benefit greatly from a new paint job but still looks ok and was in use for many years this way. Also some of the stickers have deteriorated and will need replaced to make it look really good again. The motor is a 305 c. i. 5. 0 liter V8 that was freshly rebuilt a couple years ago and was only in service for a little over a year of that. It is still in excellent shape and runs awesome and can definitely be relied on. The V8 motor runs like a champ and has not given us any trouble since we had it rebuilt. On to the transmission. It is a turbo 350 that was also freshly rebuilt right at the same time as the motor. Only about 8 months of use on it and again it works great and we have not had any problems with it since we had it rebuilt. On to the wheels and tires. The wheels are 18" MB brand aluminum alloy wheels that are in like new condition with little to no wear and the tires are 235/50R18 Falken tires that were in use for about a year and a half and will still last for quite a while. They do have some wear but have a lot of tread left. The brake job was done on the van about 6 months before it stopped running its routes and they are still in good working order. The title is free and clear and this van is turn key ready to go make you money in my opinion. There is some stuff that could be made better if you can afford on this ice cream truck but there is also a majority of stuff that is really nice and ready to go. Like the Nelson commercial cold plate freezer that is in amazing working condition. This freezer plugs in over night and holds below -10 all day in 90 to 100 degree weather. We had it serviced and a new pump and freon replaced several years ago and have not had any problems with it holding temp since. It gets down to temperature in a couple days and will go down as far as -25 degrees at night. The floor has been replaced with diamond plate metal that is very sturdy and easy to keep looking nice. There is also a Pioneer stereo system with iPod connectivity to listen to your music or play CD's. The loud speaker for playing music to draw customers out is also in good working order and is Nichols Electronics Omni with 2 channels and 16 songs on each channel. The air conditioner for comfort from the heat is a roof top RV high capacity a/c. It works great and will keep you nice and cool but your own generator will have to be furnished and it goes on the black tray hanging off the back and straps down to it. We used Honda generators for their quietness but that will be your call. If you have any questions feel free to ask before you bid please. Thanks for stopping by and best wishes from K&C Creations.
