Description for Chevrolet C-10 1965
This 65 chevy shortbed was going to be a restoration project for me. but I bit off more than I can chew. I have one car on the rotissorie and two more in waiting. the old truck is straight and not rusted out. You can see the filler on the truck. Theres no rust or dents under there. The old gentleman that began working on this southern truck put that on there to cover up some surface rust. Go Figure?? I sanded a couple of areas on it when I bought it and sure enough theres not any problems under it. The cab mounts are excellent. The only place I saw is the passenger side rocker is just starting to rust. The truck runs well and I put new bushings in the shift linkage. It wanted to hang up in gear. It shifts well now. just a little tight. Someone put a piece of metal in the bed. I personally would take that out and put a wood kit in. Theres not much body work to do on this truck. It can be driven as is and restored while you drive it. It still has the radio delete plate in the dash. This was an elderly gentleman that bought this truck new in Alabama. It was his dream to restore it. but for health reasons he sold it to a friend just inside Tennesee where I got it. You won't be disappointed with his truck if you want one. You're getting an accurate description. You can bid with confidence. Check my feedback. The truck that arrives at your door is the one I described. I've have trusted some people and was very disappointed. I won't do that to you. You can end this auction with a phone call. Jeff @ 573-631-5722 Thx for lookingOn Jan-02-15 at 14:13:34 PST. seller added the following information: Guys I decided to drop the buy it now price on the old truck by 1. 00. 00. After thinking about it I think was high. a 65 Short bed is hard to find. I also wanted you to know the filler is not hiding anything serious. Any where the paint was rubbed though the old man put this filler on t to protect it. I sanded a couple of spots and there is no rust holes on the truck. It's much better than it looks. Pretty easy restore really. I'm going to rat rod it if it doesn't bring the money I need. It does need the carb rebuilt and I'm going to do that next week. I want it running without any issues at all. Right now the accelerator pump causes you to have to feather it a bit. but I do drive it from time to time. Always starts good no matter the weather and there's no engine or tranny noise. It drives really well. Its a good truck or I wouldn't have bought it. I don't buy junk. Even an ameture can make a nice truck out of this. theres no expensive body work here. Sanding . priming and block sanding will go a long way to a nice truck. finish wet sanding you might want some help with. I've described it as best I can. I don't think I left anything out. Bid till it hurts. It's in my way. I'll do the truck if I have to because I'm not going to lose money on it. Keep in mind. 65 Chevy shortbeds are out there but most are rust buckets you have to spend thousands on just to get them ready for expensive paint. thx for looking and your bids. you can reach me at 573-631-5722. I'm just 50 mils south o st Louis Missouri.
