This car was a drag car 30+ years ago, ut has been pretty much just been stored since the 80’s. The body chassis and frame and floorpans are good and solid and the body doesn’t have any putty in it, o it is a good solid car to work with. I’m assuming it is so solid because it has spent 99.9% of its life in storage. Because it’s such a solid car, t would be well worth painting and “finishing”….Or leave it as-is and drive and enjoy it now and finish it later. A car like this will always hold its resale value, o this car is a good investment as old cars go.
The car is all steel except for the hood. The car has a clear / clean Illinois title, nd the factory VIN tag is still properly affixed to the car and matches the title. Car was originally Marina blue. 44K miles are believed to be original.
Has all factory glass (no Lexan)
Has factory dash
Has factory firewall
Has factory roll-up windows
Has factory floors
Has line-Loc
Tubs barely come into the backseat area, o it would be easy to put a backseat in the car if you want to
Rollcage door bars can easily be removed, ut are low enough that they don’t pose a problem getting in/out of the car
The car was pulled out of storage about 2 years ago, nd had a fresh drivetrain installed along with some needed updates like disc front brakes / etc., o that it could be used as a street car or race car. The expensive stuff is done, ou just need to do some finish work and you are good to go.
Car has the following:
-Fresh 454 – good street motor – Comp “Thumper” cam 11-600-4 (279/297, ift .498/.483 – 107CL) – (INTAKE) – New 750 Holley – New Hooker Comp headers – New Flowmasters – Pretty much all external parts on the motor are new also like waterpump / HEI / etc.
-Fresh TH400 transmission (full manual valve body race build - $1,200) – stall convertor – flexplate – etc. also new
-12-bolt rear with narrowed factory frame rails & springs with ladder bars and wheel tubs (current tires are 29.5 X 11.5) – Strange spool / Strange axles / Strange 5.13 gear / diagonal track locator (adjustable)
-Front end rebuilt + added disc brakes (new parts)
-Rare Streaker wheels (doesn’t mean they are valuable – just different) – never seen another set like them in person & very few in pictures….Apparently they were only produced for 2 years and then Cragar sued the company and production ceased
Also New:
-Driveshaft
-Aluminum radiator with twin electric fans
-Front fenders
-Radiator core support
-Bumpers (front & rear)
-Carpet
-Window regulator
-Painless wiring / switch panel
-Ididit stainless tilt steering column
-Autometer gauges
-Hurst Pistol Grip ¼ stick shifter
-’69 Camaro bucket seats (used, ut very nice shape)
-Side & ¼ glass & door & trunk weatherstrip
Fun street car to drive, ould race again if you wanted to!!!
Needs the following to “finish”
-Has working headlights / tail lights, ut needs brake lights & turn signals hooked up
-Body has no putty, nd could be in paint with relative ease
-Different rear end gears if you want to highway drive it
-Rear tires are slicks….Not DOT tires
-Drivers rear wheel opening has some minor damage from previous tire contact (see pictures)
-Needs front end professionally aligned – (wasn’t done after front end rebuild)
