Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1970
1970 Chevy Chevelle SS Clone
The Exterior Condition.
Excellent paint showing deep, clear refelections on all panels. There's a mild hint of metal flake in the blue,...I've tried to show that flake in some of the photos.
The white racing stripes are crisp and well laid out by the painter,...there's a working cowl hood, nice chrome work and the car is straight as you look down the sides. (No waves)
The glass is clean & clear, the headlight bezels are nice and the doors fit well. The Chrome wheels are nice,...as in not curbed or scraped.
The only real let down on the exterior is the door handles,..the chrome plating is showing some age and imperfection levels,...that makes them,...( in my opinion) less than average.
The car sits square on the road,...it's got a nice street stance.
Overall condition of the exterior is a 9 on the High Quality Driver 10 scale. It's sweet,...everyone will say so.
The Interior Condition.
Nice in here too,...but maybe a step off the pace of the exterior. I say that because of a few things;
1. The Door Handles have been painted to match the Pearl White interior. This paint did not adhere quite right,...not horrible,...just not as nice as the door panels or seats. There are other areas of less than perfect interior sections like the kick panels.....that while are not bad,...they're just not great. I'm being picky here,...but like you,...I don't like surprises.
2. The seat belt floor retractors are a bit faded over use and the seatbelts themselves are most likely the originals,..so they're a bit off color too.
Otherwise,...excellent seating areas,...the seats are comfortable, well tailored and the door panels are full color as well. The dash is custom to bring in the white face gauges,...it looks cool to me.
The headliner is nice and tight as is the package tray.
Overall Interior condition is a 7.5 to an 8 on the same scale I used for the exterior.
The Engine & Transmission Condition.
Super Sweet 454 built with performance adds. There's a mild cam,..headers and throaty exhaust. The polished Edelbrock Intake and aftermarket valve covers area nice touch to an otherwise basic and stock looking engine bay.
This thing will get right with it,..it needs nothing mechanically and is ready to GO! The power & performance is impressive,...the sound is great and the 4 speed shifts with ease. No mechanical issues whatsoever.
The steering is crisp, the braking and handling are spot on and again,...you can fly in and drive it home confidently.
The overall mechanical condition on all power components would rate a 9 on anyone's scale. This is a nice, nice running and driving car.
The Undercarriage & Trunk Condition.
Nice and solid,...nothing goofy or poor in quality here either. This car was professionally restored and whoever did it,...knows how to build a car. This Chevelle is Sorted Out Nicely.
In Closing.
The color is terrific, it's great looking and runs & drives just as well as it looks. Take it to a car show and come home with some hardware. The color combination makes this SS clone,...a true 1 of a kind. Pro-touring - Resto-Mod - Custom,...what ever you call it,....it's sweet by any name.
