Description for Chevrolet Special Deluxe 2 door 1942
Up for auction is a prewar very rare model built in the end of 1941 and sold New in August of 1943. Beautiful Martial Maroon color and light beige cord interior. Pictures show the quality of the bolt off restoration. I have started and driven it around the block periodically to keep it fresh. This car belonged to my best friend and he passed not long after purchasing it. He was so proud of how rare it was, even though he had a street rod Black 38 Chevy. You can search, but will be lucky to find one of these in this condition. It starts and runs well. It has been stored in a climate controlled garage since restoration. This car was built in the blackout period where chrome was hard to get. It has the Styleline (Fleetline) bumpers, defrost and heater were the options. I have never seen one of these with these optional bumpers. The windows on the Town sedan were called Parade windows so you could see the riders in and out well instead of the smaller coupe windows. Original sticker shows it was $1135 after options New. It is appreciating in value much faster than any current 401k, and once reserve is met, someone will have a very rare car. I have many papers that contain parts list, etc, brochures, copies of title transfers from Father to son, etc. I just replaced the battery, and put a new original type copper thermostat in it last yr. Bid with confidence. It is located in the Raleigh-Durham area of NC. Shipping & Freight on buyer. Deposit of $2000.00 non refundable due at winning bid by Paypal, rest by certified check. When I have money in hand, car can be shipped. There were only 2,544 of these built in 1942. Style 42-1011. Bid with Confidence and own a very rare car that has not been chopped up, modified, or abused. Questions? email me through ebay. Thanks for looking at the auction and bidding on it.By the way: It was entered in one show locally six years ago. It drew all the attention, took first place. It charms the pants off anyone who sees it.
It has a perfect show record 1-0.
