Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1965
Think you've already seen the best restomods around? Thank again. This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette keeps the iconic C2 silhouette, but it has the modern 436 hp heart of a C6 Grand Sport. Plus, take the time to look over the custom frame, paint, and interior. Once you realize how amazing this build is, make room in your trophy case.Even from just a quick glance everyone will know this Sting Ray is special. The Metallic Viper Blue paint takes advantage of the most modern clearcoat practices so you get a deep sparkle that's also so slippery you'll swear it was applied with baby oil. The '65 was the perfect starting point for this project, not only because it was the first year for the big block (and don't miss the iconic stinger hood that comes on this one), but also there was less chrome on these cars. While that gives more space to highlight the expensive paint, it also means that any brightwork has to be standout to really get noticed. That's why it all has been restored to a mirror shine everything from the thin stylized bumpers, to the side exhaust, to the Corvette name in cursive on the rear. But even if that all escapes everyone's glances, the special 60th anniversary wheels from the 2013 Grand Sport are shining gems that provide a window into this classic's modern soul.Just like the exterior, the interior is unmistakably based on a C2, with a ton invested in giving it modern attractiveness. The custom build starts with the console and dash utilizing the same metallic paint used on the outside. The supple camel brown leather seats have the kind of intricate pattern that you'd expect in a classic Ferrari. The material and stitching is repeated on the door panels, trim, and rear panel. As expected from a full custom build, it comes loaded with features such as air conditioning, power windows, power steering, and a modern AM/FM/XM stereo with iPod hookup. But your favorite piece in the center console will undoubtedly be the push button transmission. When you slip behind the three-spoke leather and chrome steering wheel, you'll notice the full Dakota Digital gauge package that glows blue to keep this design truly uniform. Any thoughts that this Corvette is running something close to stock is completely blown away the moment you pop the hood. That's a Corvette motor, but it's a 6.2-liter 436 hp V8 borrowed from a 2013 Grand Sport. So the fuel-injected callouts on the fenders of this coupe aren't liars, they are just correct in a very unique way. While you'll love this modern power, its upgraded support components also mean you can even idle in traffic without worrying. But this car is much more than great paint and a dynamite motor. Look at the undercarriage pictures where you can see the full custom frame. This means an upgraded A-arm suspension in front, and the rear traverse leaf spring was ditched for a fully independent coilover setup. You're going to love the sound the side pipes make when you fire this one up and go for a winding drive on a deserted road. There's even added control over the six-speed automatic transmission with push-button shifting available from the interior console pad. The owner said if a buyer wants a 6 speed manual, they will swap it out too. Grip is also well in hand thanks to a full Wilwood disc brake package with a six-piston front and four-piston rear. This is connected to sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. We will show you the records that detail the full custom build of this one-of-a-kind performance car...and yes, there's only 43 miles on it since completed! The work of art is basically the best of a '65 and a '13 Grand Sport mated together, and it almost goes without saying you couldn't build it for this. This Corvette comes with everything you want, except the new massive trophy case you'll need. There won't be another like this, so call today!!!
