Description for Chevrolet Other 1948
Very Rare 1948 Chevy Panel 1 Ton 3800 Truck Van with title and rear doors. Was a Missouri Prison Van which is a very cool story and has actual bullet holes in side Has seats for prisoners with cushions and wood floor in good condition for age. Mostly complete minus the drivers seat. 216 Engine needs a lot of love with transmission. I hate to sell but as you can see in the pictures, I have too many projects and can't store them all per the city. Interior is in great shape and would make an outstanding rat rod or restore to original. Seats are unusual and top has NO dents. Let me know if you have any questions and truck has a low reserve. Truck is sold "as is" and payment is full is due within 24 hours of purchase. No refunds as I need it gone to make room for my projects. Great buy and wish I could keep but too busy. Can assist with loading or possible delivery or meet up with cash for miles and uhaul rental. If I were to keep it, I would most likely keep as is and fill in some holes in the running boards and rear area above bumper. I am good at body work so this is not a big deal. If I were to make it a show truck, I would replace the front fenders, running boards and grill. I know where all are at a salvage yard by me that would work great. I would also put some new floor panels in the cab area and junk the engine and trans. It does not turn right now. I do have a 292 that is great running I was going to put in. If someone is interested in it we could discuss. The wood floor is in good shape outside of usual wear. There is a hole in one strip that could be easily replaced. I like the patina, so I would keep most of this truck intact and just put a new brake system in and work on the tires and rims. It needs longer wheel studs and a small space up front but I like the look of the tires.
