Description for Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1985
Very nice 1985 Monte Carlo SS, 29,000 original miles, I am the second owner . We have owned since approximately 2004. Has not been driven in the rain since 2004 for sure and not sure if it was ever driven in the rain before 2004. Has always been garaged. Interior is like new. Just replaced radiator and water pump. Radiator was seeping in the area where the core joins the side tanks. Water pump was starting to drip from the weep hole. Still have both if the new owner would like to have. Still have the 4 original Goodyear tires that have 35%-50% tread left. Original tires are as hard as a hockey puck. The BF Goodyear T/A radials are about 3-4 years old. Appears to still have original fan belts and upper and lower radiator hoses. Looks untouched under the hood except for new radiator, water pump and little blue Cap for the R-134 conversion. Air Conditioning switched to R 134 years ago and is cold. Monte runs and drives and stops like a car with 29,000 miles should.Doesn'trattle or shake, drives real nice. Sometimes the check engine light is on, sometimes its off. Have original paperwork from the dealer. The Monte Carlo has no rust or door dings. The trunk floor and trunk lid and bottom of doors are real nice. All the rubber weatherstripping (doors, windows and trunk) is soft and pliable The filler piece of metal between the nose and the top of the radiator has no rust. The underside of the car is also real nice. Still has the original mufflers. Trunk looks untouched from new. Jack and spare tire look unused. Factory paint marks arevisibleunder the car. The tailpipes are showing their age and starting to rot at the lower couple of feet from the tips. Front end has had a bra on it since before we bought the car so the paint on the nose is real nice. Unfortunately the bra rubbed a few spots in the paint near the drivers side marker light (picture included) The high spot (accent) on the center of the trunk paint is starting to look thin from years of waxing (Picture included) and also there are a couple scratch`s on the roof about 6 inches from the top of the windshield where the paint is also getting thin. This is from trying to buff the scratch out. On the panel that is behind the passenger side little side window and the rear window the paint looks thin in a 2 inch by 1/4 inch area. On the passenger side of the hood up near the windshield it looks like a wet rag or sponge was left there and the paint is blotchy and bumpy approximately 3 inch x 4 inch area. Motor is Matching Numbers, of course. Not a perfect 31 year old car, Just a real real nice 31 year old car. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale elsewhere. If a bidder would like more pictures let me know. I can put the Monte on a car lift if more pictures of the underside are wanted Rick 386-295-2319 9am-9pm EST
