Description for Chevrolet C-10 1968
This 1968 Chevy C10 is a frame off restoration that's been transformed into a mean street machine with a wicked stance. It has a rip roaring power plant and creature comforts to boot. A blower truck with air conditioning, and a trick leather interior - sign us up.
During the restoration, the body was stripped down to bare metal and the frame was refinished in satin black. The bed was modified with custom wheel tubs to house the giant rear 15" wide wheels which create the wicked stance of this truck. The paint was done in bright red base/clear and was color sanded upon completion. The hood now has a 5" cowl to accommodate the Blower Shop 671. The chrome and stainless has all been replaced or restored during the restoration as has all the rubber trim.
The interior features custom buckets, a custom console, door panels and a leather covered dash. It's cleanly styled, and as comfortable as you could make an old pickup truck. All the wiring in the truck is a brand new kit from Ron Francis and the gauges have been updated with modern Autometer units which are both accurate and stylish. A tilt chrome column and Colorado Customs steering wheel take the place of the utilitarian original set up
The truck is powered by a ZZ350 with a Blower Shop 671 blower with 4% overdrive. It makes fairly mild and streetable boost so the truck can be driven with confidence on the street, but don't worry, she's no slouch either! The transmission is a built Turbo 400 with a 2000 stall and a trans cooler. The rear end is a Ford 9" with 3.55 Posi gears.
The truck rides on lowering springs up front and has a custom built 4-link setup in the rear. The rear uses coil over shocks and the overall ride is fairly smooth for a lowered vehicle. The 4-wheel brakes come on strong, due to the upgraded hydroboost brake system and steering is very smooth with the power steering setup.
