When you picture a '57 Chevy in your imagination, this is the car you've always dreamed of. A super-clean stock look with a few upgrades that make it a first-rate cruiser and show piece, this Chevy is an icon that you can finally afford.
Tropical Turquoise is the quintessential 1950s color and combined with the Bel Air trim on this hardtop, there aren't many cars that attract more attention out on the road. And if anyone takes the time to look it over up close and personal, they'll find very straight, clean sheetmetal that fits together extremely well, despite the reasonable price point. The finish is bright urethane which shines up like the original Magic Mirror lacquer but is far more durable. It shows a few signs of use, of course, but there's nothing that should keep it away from the next cruise night, and if you're ambitious, a cut and buff would take it up a notch. Restoring any '57 Chevy is an expensive proposition when you get to the shiny stuff, and this one wears lots of nicely finished chrome, polished stainless, and, of course, those anodized aluminum panels on the quarters. That same trim also makes panel alignment critical, and you can easily see in the photos that this one fits together quite well. And yes, those Fuel-Injection badges are earned, not merely for show.
The interior has been restored to pretty much stock specs, including the multi-colored upholstery that's pure 1950s kitch. Bench seats mean there's plenty of room for your friends and family and there's no such thing as a bad seat in this car. Replacement black carpets have the correct weave and nap and are protected by blue rubber mats that look flashy as well as authentic. The dash is stock, including the factory instruments that look fantastic, and the steering wheel has been nicely restored and doesn't show any significant signs of age or wear. The original AM radio is gone, replaced by an AM/FM/cassette stereo that sits neatly in the original slot, so it doesn't detract from the '50s vibe. No modern gauges under the dash, no cut-up panels for oversized stereo equipment, just a nice, stock-looking '57 Chevy that makes everyone wish it was in their garage. Even the trunk is unmolested, just needing a new mat and maybe a spare whitewall tire to look like 1957 all over again.
A fuel-injected 350 cubic inch L98 V8 is a natural fit in the Chevy's engine bay. Borrowed from a C4 Corvette, it's one of the most durable torque factories to come out of Bowling Green and makes this '57 feel decades newer. Chrome valve covers and a polished aluminum intake plenum work well with the satin black engine bay and chrome alternator It's backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, whose overdrive gear makes this Chevy a fantastic highway cruiser that gives up nothing on the street. Ram's horn exhaust manifolds with a custom dual exhaust system and mellow mufflers give it a vintage performance sound and probably add a few horsepower, too. The undercarriage is not detailed but it's in good enough order that you'll never hesitate to take it for a drive, weather notwithstanding. Chrome Ridler wheels look awesome and wear 275/40/17 rubber that gives the vintage Chevy modern handling to match the powertrain.
Stop waiting on the sidelines, because restored '57 Chevys don't get more affordable than this. Call today!
