Flashy muscle cars are fun and polished customs are nice, but there's really nothing cooler than a well-done truck. No gimmicks, no frills and no posturing; just power and presence - LOTS of presence. This exceptionally clean C10 is a subdued stunner that mixes 350 cubic inches of small block V8 with a professional grade driveline, crisp aesthetics and a 12-year, body-off restoration. And if you're looking for a cool classic that's both road ready and show-ready, it's the perfect way to cruise the scene and turn some heads!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this super cool Chevy is the beneficiary of a 12-year, frame-off restoration that's logged less than 100 miles of road time since its 2014 completion. Under the truck's glowing 2-stage, an incredibly straight fuselage hangs solid panels that, with the exception of the aforementioned restoration, appear to have led a quiet, drama-free existence. Those panels feature better-than-factory alignment and, when opened and closed, sound solid and function exceptionally well. And that body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggest many labor-intensive hours were spent exacting top-notch finish work.
While the basic shape of the Action Line Series is certainly appealing, first-rate detailing is what makes this pickup really pop. At the front of the truck, a billet-tinged grille centers a broad "CHEVROLET" script between small parking lamps, clean headlights and a polished bumper that incorporates slick fog lamps. Above that grille, a bowtie-branded hood fronts like-new glass, which is framed in fresh stainless, cleared by polished wipers and reflected in small mirrors. Beneath that hood, a simplistic profile hangs fresh emblems, rich door handles and ornate marker lamps amid stylish factory trim. At the center of that profile, a spectacular wood bed is detailed with a polished fuel filler and stainless skid strips. And at the back of that bed, a stainless-trimmed tailgate centers a requisite Chevrolet banner between LED tail lamps and a second polished bumper.
ENGINE
Pop the hood and you'll find a reliable, 350 cubic inch Chevrolet small block that's been polished, rebuilt and fitted with hot Edelbrock Performer RPM heads. Revs are created when a tasteful Edelbrock air cleaner floats wind in to an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, by way of a coated, 4-barrel carburetor. At the perimeter of that intake, polished Edelbrock valve covers hang a polished Edelbrock breather over big Hedman Hedders. Behind that breather, a modern HEI distributor shoots spark through loomed plug wires. At the front of those looms, traditional V-belts spin billet pulleys in front of a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor, a Weiand water pump and modern power steering. And at the front of those ancillaries, a beefy radiator plays well with a giant, electric puller fan. Despite being a thoroughly massaged piece, the Chevy Orange mill looks right at home in the truck's spotless engine compartment. And details, like a fresh brake booster, braided fluid lines, chrome dipsticks and a small Edelbrock fuel filter, mix first-rate looks with first-rate functionality.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Slide under this rig and you'll find a fresh undercarriage that hasn't even been assembled long enough to amass its first layer of dust. The floors wear quality undercoating, which looks great against a red driveshaft and silver drivetrain components. At the center of that drivetrain, a familiar Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed funnels torque through a tough, 12-bolt axle. Fluid power steering makes quick work of turns while power-assisted discs and drums bring everything to a quick halt. The aforementioned headers dump spent gases in to aluminized pipes, which employ Flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers. The truck's Flat Black chassis rides long and lean thanks to small lowering blocks. That stance clears 20-inch Raceline Status 5s, which spin 255/40 Nitto NT420S in front of 295/40 Nitto NT420S. And items like a finned oil pan and stainless fuel tank round out a roster of impressive hardware.
INTERIOR
In the '60s, trucks were all about comfort and utility not DVDs, wireless and navigation systems. That's why it's so refreshing to hop in the cab of this purposeful but nicely appointed C10. The star of the show is a Red Houndstooth bench that definitely ups the style quotient. Below that seat, fade-free carpet rides tight under stainless-trimmed foot pedals, bowtie-branded floor mats and stainless Chevrolet door sills. Above that carpet, ornate door panels found small armrests and traditional chrome handles behind substantial kick speakers. And at the front of the cockpit, a stylish dash hangs rebuilt telemetry, a Ken Harrison stereo and Vintage Air climate control behind a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel that laps a modern, tilting column.
