Front Disc Brakes. Leather Seats. Power Brakes. Power Steering. Seatbelts. Tilt Wheel. iPod Compatible SELLER REMARKS No. your eyes aren't deceiving you. this 1964 Chevrolet El Camino really is as straight as it looks in photos. That kind of work doesn't come cheap. and it's powered by a great-running small block backed by a 4-speed. so it's a hauler that's a lot of fun when the bed's empty. This truck/car was originally Ember Red. but does it even matter at this point? It was stripped down. disassembled. and the finish was precisely rebuilt from there. The results speak for themselves. an arrow-straight car that has a shine so deep it looks like you could fall into it. The black accentuates the simple El Camino design. highlighting things like the crease along the quarter panels that gives them a muscular flare as well as the beautifully formal hood. Nothing was shaved. modified. or replaced. so there's no cowl induction hood. no stripes. and no roll pan in back. but rather factory-issued stuff that's been beautifully finished to an extremely high level. You'll note the reflections in our photo studio are distortion-free and super sharp. which only comes from a lot of tedious sanding and buffing. but the results speak for themselves. And with paint this nice. you can't just throw any old trim on there. so all the chrome and stainless was polished up before being reinstalled. The bed was lined in gray carpet for a plush look and the tonneau cover seals up tight enough for it to be considered the world's biggest trunk. It's not very often you see an early El Camino dressed to the nines. but the low-back buckets in this Elky look period-correct but oh so much sleeker. New leather seat covers give it a very upscale look and you'll feel like you're almost melting into the seats the material is so soft. Beautiful stitching showcases an otherwise simple design and works well with the reproduction door panels and new black carpets. The factory instrument panel is now full of high-tech Dakota Digital gauges. including a tachometer in the center hole. and they light up with a trick blue glow at night. An AM/FM stereo radio was specifically designed to slot into the original dash and looks pretty vintage despite the digital display. and with an iPod hook up. you can take your music with you. Hurst supplied one of their shifters for the 4-speed manual transmission. which makes this El Camino a lot of fun to drive. A 327 cubic inch V8 not only delivers impressive power but it also looks great sitting under the hood. The quality bodywork didn't end at the hood. as the inner fenders and smooth firewall are all finished to the same high standards to showcase the engine itself. Black tinwork and a black engine block are obviously part of the theme. but a bright polished aluminum and chrome accessory drive system gets all the attention. A big aluminum radiator up front and a set of Doug's tubular headers for the exhaust help with both reliability and power. Flowmaster mufflers give it a familiar cackle and new power front disc brakes keep things under control. In back. the 10-bolt rear end is suspended on coil springs and heavy-duty control arms and there are expensive new shocks all around. Awesome polished Torque Thrust style wheels fit the lowered stance perfectly and are wrapped in 255/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear Continental performance radials. This is one of the slickest El Caminos we've ever featured. Beautifully built and impressively quick. it's also ridiculously affordable given the quality.
