DescriptionOne of the last years for the El Camino pick up. great driver! We are a motorcycle dealer in Mansfield Texas. we just acquired this 1986 Chevy ElCamino Conquista. It was a two owner. first owner put 100k miles on it. the second owner rebuilt it over a three year period. it was restored to a very good driver quality. The paint is not show quality. however it is much better than the factory paint that was on GM vehicles in 1986. The motor is a small block v-8. not a hot rod but a good v-8 sound and smooth running. The Automatic shifts smooth and early. you can shift it manual to keep it in the gears longer. This is a great truck to drive around town. got to Sams or Home depot to pick up stuff. It turns heads and is fun to drive. The interior is nice. the dash is good. the seats are good. the passenger seat has a glue spot on the sit down cusion. The carpet is original and has a place on the passenger transmission tunnel that is weak. The a/c has been gone through and works as it should. It represents 80's GM engineering and one of the last years for the El Camino. This sharp restored ElCamino Just arrived and here is some information on the vehicle from the previous owner and the same person that restored it. The truck was not bolt/nut restoration. but more of a practical driver restoration. I'll categorize for simplicity. All work done over 5900 miles and 3 year period. Speedometer reset to zero when work began. I'm the second owner. Truck purchased new from Vandergriff Chevrolet in 1986 and has lived it's entire life in Arlington. Texas. The front end sheet metal was shared with the Malibu. the doors with the Monte Carlo. and the rear tailgate and bumper was shared with the Malibu station wagon. For the first time. though. the El Camino had a unique chassis - it was shared with no other Chevrolet. The front end featured a new single rectangular headlight design. The base engine was a 200-cubic-inch (3. 3-liter) V6 that developed 95 horsepower (71 kW). The Conquista model was the luxury sport trim package. two tone paint. power windows and locks. Bucket seats with a center console. chrome trim and bright work on the outside of the body. Color matching rally wheels with trim rings.
