1979 Chevy 454 Silverado 2wdFrame off Restoration in 2008!The previous owner of this truck got it when his father passed away. having been in the family since it was new. he felt a strong emotional attachment to the truck and spent over $25. 00. 00 having the body pulled from the frame and a complete restoration done in 2007. The engine and trans were pulled apart and completely rebuilt to the factory specs. The truck was refurbished from the grill to the back bumper and it shows. The truck has been in storage since 2007. Minor Damage and Flaws:The sun shone into the cab and faded the cloth seat while it was parked under a carport. There are a two minor body and paint issues; the paint is chipped on the top of the front fender where the hood meets the fender in the front and there is a minor dent by the exhaust pipe on the drivers side rear. The switch for the AC that controls the fan broke offEngine and Drive Train:The 454 was pulled and completely restored to factory specsThis engine only has 95 miles on it since the build so it has not been fully broken in yet. The 4-speed standard transmission was gone through and all faulty sincros and seals replacedThe clutch is newThe 4:10 rear end was disassembled and all seals replacedAll U-joints were replacedThe brakes are newThe BF Goodrich tires show new treadThe truck retains the original Rally rims with original trim rings and center capsThe exhaust system is new from front to back with chrome tipsAll four shocks are newBody and Interior:There is absolutely NO rust on this truck anywhereThe paint is in very good condition and the colors are factoryThe glass is perfectThe bed is like new with no dents or damage and has been Rhino lined. Aluminum top rails on the tailgate and the front rail. No damage or scratches to the top of the bed railsThe hood shuts nice and tight with no warping or damageAll the weather stripping was replaced and the doors shut really tight. The seat cover is faded due to the sunThe carpets are newAll gauges and trim are new with the speedo set back to "0" when the restoration was completedSpeedo shows a total of 95 milesThere are NO tears or rips in the door panelsThe dash is perfectFactory interior and exterior trim is like newHeadliner and visors are newThis truck starts right up and runs really well. albeit is a little cold blooded as are all the older 454's. It runs like a champ and goes down the road like a new truck. The ride is really nice since all the suspension bushings were replaced and the rubber is new.
