Description for Chevrolet El Camino 1970
1970 Chevy El Camino $14. 00 in Receipts Edelbrock Pro-Flow Computer Fuel Injection Rebuilt Trans with B&M Super Cooler Vintage Air Compact AC/Heat Disc-Brake Conversion Polyurethane Suspension(Needs a lot of little tinkering to finish) El Camino is for local pick up in Poteau. Oklahoma. Has clear Oklahoma title. nbsp; Sold as is where is. This is a long ad. if going to bid please read it all. I bought this truck 10 years ago and began building it for a daily driver. I like 305 motors. because they have the same crank to rod ratio as a 350. but not all the cubic inches for better gas mileage. On top of that. I put an Edelbrock computer-controlled. sequential. adjustable fuel-injection system. Comp Cams blue-printed cam. and headers. I have put less than 30K miles on this truck since the beginning. I do not drive it everyday and live on the edge of town. (Odometer was over 110K when I got it and shows 136K now. ) Have about $14. 00 in parts receipts. not counting hundreds of hours of work. Suspension: Took everything out from underneath the truck and replaced it with new items. I also found and replaced a bent lower control arm in front and a bent upper control in the rear. · New polyurethane graphite-impregnated ball joints. tie-rod ends. and bushings. · Rebuilt power-steering pump. · Rebuilt fast-ratio Z-28 steering box. · New shocks all around. · New coil springs all around. · Stainless Steel Brakes front disc-brake conversion. · Rear brakes rebuilt. · New rear outer wheel bearings. · Strapped upper control arms (welded tabs across for extra strength). · Rear-end topped with Lucas lube. · Recent (700 miles) front-end alignment. Engine: · 305 block and heads from 70s Monte Carlo. cleaned. inspected. bored . 030 over by O’Reilly Springfield. MO machine shop. · Keith Black 9:1 static compression ratio Hypereutectic pistons. Scat steel rods and factory crank. Balanced by O’Reilly. · Factory heads cleaned. inspected. decked . 010. new intake and exhaust valves and seats install by O'Reilly with Comp Cams valve springs. · Comp Cams roller-tipped rocker arms. · Comp Cams Nostalgia (300 horse 327 factory) blueprinted camshaft . 390 lift intake . 410 exhaust. Comp hydraulic lifters and push rods (Degreed in). · Chevy HEI distributor converted for Edelbrock fuel injection. · Edelbrock Pro Flow computerized sequential fuel injection. · Pete Jackson noisy gear drive with cam button. · Dynomax headers. · Flowmaster 40 mufflers. · Rebuilt radiator and direct bolt-on flex fan. · Custom AC. PS and alternator brackets. · Autometer oil pressure. water temp. volts. trans temp gauges and tach. Transmission: · Rebuild turbo 350 from AutoZone. · New stock torque converter. · B&M super-cooler trans cooler. · Trans-fluid temp gauge in cab. · New U-Joints front and rear. It has tired me out to get this far. I don’t want to crawl around on it anymore. and need the space for another vehicle. that is only reason I am selling it. I am not a mechanic and have gone through a learning curve on this. Notes: There were two patches of floor pan rust. one behind the driver’s seat and one behind the passenger seat. I filled them with fiberglass and Dynomatted the whole floorboard. What it needs: Someone to tune the fuel injection for optimum performance. it is getting. my guess. 11-12 miles per gallon right now. It is using a quart of oil every couple hundred miles. it is not burning it. and I do see a leak under the truck. but I don’t know where the oil is going? The brake pedal feels hard to me. I think it should be easier given it is power. I have never charged or powered up the AC compressor. The heater blows. but not hot because in winter the engine does get hot enough to generate heat because of direct drive fan. needs factory clutch fan. Has a slow trans leak at the pan. Windshield will leak under heavy rain (needs front windshield replaced). needs some chrome trim. bumpers. horn hooked up. gas gauge de-bugged (worked and read until I dropped it to install FI return line. but not reading now). Needs headliner. Needs ignition switch. I have a hot wire going from the battery to coil. The FI computer is not mounted. its resting on the trans hump. The AC vent in middle upper dash is loose. needs re-secured. Two wheel lug nuts are stripped. I had the body man fill the front fender side marker lights. if that matters to you. Primer was just shot on to make it look decent for driving around. If you have any questions please write and thanks for looking. $300 PayPal deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance due within 7 days. Balance in cash or bank transfer only. no money order or cashiers check. Thank you.
