The ’59 Impala was all new with a lower stance and wider than the ’58 with the fins and cat eye tail lights. The one we have for you has a lost of history with it. It was bought by the previous owner in GA in 1977. He pulled the car all apart and took it to bare metal when doing the resto. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and heartbeat of the Chevy. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. The body is laser straight with good lines. The fit and finish of the body is great and all the stainless lines up good with most of it that’s on the front being new. Everything is covered in the White paint that has a good shine with a slick finish. As you can tell this car was apart when the paint was done. They did a nice job with the jams and inside the trunk. New Bumpers and other new chrome was installed and it comes with the correct fender skirts if you want that look. All the glass looks good with good fit and working as it should. The final exterior touch is the set of 20” and 22” Polished Wheels with new tires. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the ’59. On the inside it is done in the stock style. It has a bench that is done in the red vinyl with the cloth inserts. It has the red carpet and the correct door panels. When you look at the dash it all looks correct right down to the radio. A set of under dash gauges and tach were added. With it being a 4 Speed it has the Hurst Shifter and a nice black Boot. All the stainless looks very good as well as the Headliner. Finally. we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it is very neat and clean. It’s a 409 V8 425Hp that has the 2x4 Intake with Twin AFB Carbs. It has the Chrome valve covers and breathers. The engine is mated to the 4 Speed trans and Stock Rear End. The exhaust flows through a set of stock manifolds and dual exhaust. The brakes are drum with Power Assist. The steering has been updated to a new 605 Power Box with new pump and lines. When you look under this ’59 it has all stock metal with only the spare tire-well being changed. It shows some age but looks solid. The frame looks solid with new bushings being put up front. As we said in the opening this ’59 belonged to the same person since 1977 and has been kept inside and only drove on clear days and never in the rain.
