Texas Classic Cars Of Dallas is proud to showcase this stunning 1970 Camaro Z/28.For sale in our Dallas showroom is a fully restored 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. After a successful run of the first generation Camaro from 1967-69 Chevrolet committed to a complete redesign making this iconic muscle car larger and wider and was still based on the GM F-Body. The most coveted among collectors are the early split bumper models and the Z-28 was the top of the line. This particular 1970 is one of the finest full bumper examples you are likely to find. This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 gets everything right: numbers-matching, 4-speed, awesome color combination, and great documentation. If you want the single mostcollectiblesecond-generation Camaro, this is quite likely it. A meticulous amount of maintenance and care has been done to keep this car in amazing condition and with only 1000 miles on the engine rebuild, its about as nice as they come.
Vivid code 43 Citrus Green is this Camaros original color and one of the more eye-popping shades offered in 1970, its a fantastic choice and a definite head turner. Stand back and take a look at this car in profile and you'll see why they're getting popular, its just clean and sleek. Of course, with a pedigree car, its always smart to follow the factory recipe, so the car is completely stock without so much as a cowl-induction hood and they didn't convert it to an RS, either, so the grille and bumpers are as the General made them. Check out how laser-straight the crease running down the sides of the bodywork is, how well the doors fit, and even how well the stripes line up from the nose to the hood; those are all indications of both good base stock and a lot of overtime work of re adjusting and new bushings over the years to get it right. The black Z/28 stripes are painted on, not decals, and the rarer than most and taller 3-piece spoiler out back looks exactly right, the owner even has pictures of the car in the 70s with it on . Nice chrome bumpers, a few relatively subtle Z/28 badges, and bright, clear lenses throughout make this Z look crisp and well-maintained.
The black interior is almost completely stock and appears tohave manyoriginal components. Black buckets were the only way to get your Z/28, and in 1970, the seats were still similar to the old-style buckets in the first-gen cars. This one wears what could be it's original and immaculate seat covers. Original door panels, and fresh carpet. The second-generation Camaros dashboard was a big improvement, with a wrap-around instrument panel full of round analog dials. This one offers the factory AM radio and the clock is even still working and that's a good indicator of just how nice this car really is. Pop the deck lid and you'll also find that the trunk area is neatly finished with a correct mat, full-sized spare with matching wheel, and a jack assembly.
That is the original, numbers-matching LT-1 350 cubic inch V8, which was the only engine available in the Z/28. Rebuilt to stock specs and dressed up the way the factory would have done it, its an engine that runs as great as it looks (we have the receipts from the build). The twin-snorkel air cleaner wears a chrome lid with reproduction decal, the finned valve covers have been a Z/28 trademark from the beginning, and, of course, Chevy Orange paint on the block just makes it look fast. The M21 close ratio 4-speed rifles through the gears without effort and the heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end is obviously built for combat as well. The factory concours correct exhaust gives it a nice look all while keeping that traditional performance sound and on the underside you will notice this car is just as clean and correct as anything you see on the exterior, and it certainly doesn't look like most 43-year-old cars we've seen. Classic SS wheels are in beautifully shape and carry a set of new Goodyear Polyglas tires and a bias ply spare. This is the one you've been waiting for: a well documented, authenticated numbers-matching, 4-speed Z/28 with no excuses and the original Protect-O-Plate. These cars are an absolute blast to drive.
The body lines are very good on this Z-28.
There are questions about the 3 piece spoiler. According to Stegmillers Second Generation Camaro statistics, the 3 piece spoiler was available as a COPOspecial orderoption. We believe that this may be the case with this Camaro. We have a very early photo of the car with the spoiler and there are noreceiptsshowing it purchased later. This car is also factory drilled in the front fenders for the front spoiler braces. The car wears reproduction front spoiler braces today.
The original owner of the car lived in New York. As you can see by this veryold photo, there are New Yorkplates on the Camaro. Without the original Window sticker we really will never know for sure.

As you can see by the data tag, this was a Norwoo, Ohio built car so the Z-28 appears on the tag.
When Jerry MacNeish did his inspection, there was an incorrect radio in the Z-28. Our seller has replacedit with a factory correct one.
We would like to thank the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight for their unique location used at many of our photo shoots.Be sure to visit this historical museum if you find yourself in the Dallas, Texas area.Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom is located only minutes away.
The rocker panel trim is so shiny, that it is reflecting our blue lift.
The newer exhaust system was done by Gardner Exhaust Systems. Gardner refuses tosell anything but factorycorrect systems.
