Do not use PayPal to purchase the vehicle.Everyone always wants the unmolested grandmas car found in the garage parked undisturbed from the 1980's. This is it! This is the best old car I have ever owned. It is a very well documented car with receipts from everything dating back to the early 70's. All original numbers matching car. I think the carburetor and alternator are also original from 1968. I went through everything and I am convinced that this car is an original mileage car and it stopped driving around 1989. The bias ply tires were bought new in 1989 and are still have like new tread. One of the bias play tires is from 1974.The last oil change sticker says, Next service 71000 miles. It had driven less than 1000 miles since that oil change.Mileage when i purchased the car was 69XXX The estate the car came from, the woman who owned it was born in 1922. It still had 1963 black California licence plates when I bought it. The tags were kept up to date until 2012. It was garage kept and periodically driven around the block to keep all the moving parts moving.
I purchased the car with full intention to keep it for another 40 years. I'm selling it because or personal reasons that I would rather not go into. The shocks and springs were worn out, the battery was 12 years old, it had several leaks that were keeping it off the road. To make it road worthy I replaced the following parts.
New Radiator, fluid, top and bottom radiator hoses.New Moog springs, front and rear.4 KYB Gas charged shocks.New Moog front control arm bushings top and bottom.4 new Moog ball joints. (old were still good, grease boots were torn.)Front end alignment.New Battery.New power steering hoses4 new 235 15 cooper cobra tires and 4 new chrome GM rally wheels.Transmission tail seal where the driveshaft goes in.Changed fluids and filters, oil and transmission.New ignition points and spark plugs. I went through all the brakes, everything is like new.I charged the old R12 AC system with R12, it functioned perfectly and blew ice cold air. It has a slow leak because it stopped working after about 60 days. ( I can get 5 more 12 oz cans of R12)
This car has very little rust. 2 spots that I could find and they are on the bottom corner or the front fenders behind the wheel. The corners of the back window that usually rust through are very well intact. This car has never has any rust repairs done. The paint is original. There is no rust or repairs on the floor or trunk. I have pictured all the rust spots and dents that I could find. This car has some fading to the original paint and has quite a few paint chips and pin dents from car doors and shopping carts. It is a pretty rare original two tone car and not a vinyl top car. The car drives perfect down the road and everything functions as it should. The original AM radio works. The transmission shifts nice and tight, no slipping that I can feel. The brakes work perfectly and stop the car like they should. All the gauges work including the gas gauge. All of the lights, blinkers, flashers, high beam low beam, brake lights and wipers work. It even has the original 1968 T-3 headlights! The windows go up and down nice and smooth. The wipers work. The steering wheel and dash are in perfect condition. The horn honks nice and loud. The seat belts are all intact and nice and clean. The seat covers have been repaired but they are original, it even had the plastic 1968 seat covers on it when I bought it. They would look nicer if they were replaced but they are very functional. The original carpet has some stains but is still very nice. The door panels and rear panels are very nice. The headliner is almost perfect. The doors open and close nice and solid with no rattles as does the trunk. It has a seeping oil leak that is very slow, (expected on a 48 year old original car) The original owners manual and protecto plate are with the car. This is the best nicest original driving old car I have ever owned! This car passed the Texas safety inspection and is registered with antique Texas plates in my name. It has a clear Texas title in my name. I drive it every week to the car show /Cruise nights. It gets lots of attention and heads turn everywhere when I drive it. It is very dependable.
