This 66 Chevelle has had the same owner for approx 20 years. The car has been done approx 15 years. It stills presents itself very well and shows great. The paint is finished in lemon wood yellow. The paint is very nice slick and straight! All of the body lines look great and everything fits nice. All of the glass stainless chrome etc still shows to be in excellent condition. The body, frame and floors are very solid! The undercarriage is just blacked out and undercoated but are very solid!
The interior looks great throughout and still shows very well! It has an aftermarket tachometer and am/fm stereo installed.
The engine bay has been cleaned up and nicely detailed to look all factory correct. It is filled with a 396/325 hp engine that starts great, sounds awesome and runs great no problems. It is mated to a 400 automatic transmission that shift firm and flawless and a big 10 bolt rear end geared at approx 3;73. This ole Chevelle hits the road smooth and tight and handles great. All of the wipers, lights, signals, work.
I've told you the good now let me tell what you need to here, This is a very nice car! Slick, straight, clean and seems to be mechanically great But it is NOT a perfect high end frame off car but not priced that way! You want a perfect show car then those cost over $40K now days or you'll have to do a complete restoration on this one. What this car is is what I would consider to be better than most really nice driver quality car! It's a car that will draw crowds, get compliments, turn heads and that you WILL still be proud to drive to local cruise inns shows etc with out breaking your entire life savings. I would rate this car about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 with a 10 being perfect. Not trying to knock the car or kill a sell just being over picky and brutally honest so you have no surprises!
What will you pick or what will you want to show attention to???..... The horn, reverse lights and radio does not work. The carpet is great but has some fading, The headliner looks good fits nice has some stitches coming loose. the vent glass chrome shows age/pitting. The trunk pan is original and has had some patch work over the years mostly small pin holes patched. Myself personally as solid as the rest of the is it deserves a new trunk pan section but that's me being picky again! If you can appreciate a very nice driver and realize NO car is perfect and cars that are close to perfect cost twice the $$ money then you'll be satisfied with this car!
