Description for Chevrolet Nova 1966
The winning bidder will arrive in style when driving this rare 1966 Chevrolet "Chevy II" Nova Wagon. The wagon features an automatic transmission and a 290 hp V8 that will take you to the beach or the grocery store, with ease. The 290hp Chevrolet 350 engine is mated to an automatic transmission and drives well. Dual electric fans complete the cooling tasks and for stopping power, the Nova Wagon features 4-wheel power disc brakes. The pedal is firm and the vehicle stops on a dime. The engine is dressed up with a chrome package and features an edelbrock polished carburetor and fuel filter. Dual Dynamax Turbo mufflers provide a deep, mellow tone and chrome exhaust tips exit behind each rear wheel.
All lights, horn, radio, wipers, and turn signals operate as normal. The speedometer is not working but the oil, battery, and temp gauge cluster operates as it should. A Rebel Wire wiring harness has been installed and the wiring has been completely updated from front to rear. A two knob am/fm radio has been grafted into the factory pot metal "Chevy II" radio chassis and connected to a small amp with sub/speakers.
The interior is complete with the exception of the headliner however, the dome light is installed and operational. The seats have been reupholstered with black PUI factory style covers and new foam was installed as needed. All door panels are replaced and new armrests were installed along with the rear door ashtrays.
In the rear cargo area, an antique picnic basket is installed to provide more storage. All carpeting has been updated and the floor pans have been patched over the years. The factory jack is missing but a spare tire and aftermarket jack are in place. A LED third brake light was installed to match the LED brake/turn bulbs in the rear.
The Goodyear tires all match, are in good condition, and are wrapped around silver painted rally wheels with chrome center caps / trim rings. The rear tires are 215/65/15 and 195/65/15's are on the front.
Viper red paint has been applied to the lower half of wagon with an off white, cream color, on top. The paint shines well and does have a few chips, nicks, and scratches. A silver vinyl pin stripe separates the two colors. Some rust bubbles are present in the usual places. All window glass is installed and rolls up and down as it should, including the rear tailgate window.
Overall, this Nova Wagon is NOT a top 10, trailered, show car however, it IS an extremely cool, drivable classic that deserves to be driven and enjoyed out on the town. The wagon drums up a ton of attention on the road and plenty of positive conversation at the gas pump.
