The Correct 427ci engine, (casting #3963512), with factory GM aluminum heads, and intake manifold. was expertly built and balanced by Cope Brothers Racing. It's been bored and stroked to 496 cubic-inches, and includes high-performance 10:1 compression pistons. Finned YENKO Valve Covers and Rear-End Cover. Holley 750CFM Carb. Hooker Headers. All that power is put to pavement through a Muncie M20 4-Speed Manual Transmission, that's controlled with the beyond rare YENKO shift handle, and the 12-Bolt PosiTraction rear-end delivers it to the Correct Vintage Torque Thrust Wheels with Period-Look Goodyear Reproduction Tires. A modern four-wheel disc 'Big-Brake' system brings this Chevelle to an abrupt halt when required. F41 suspension with sway bars, Factory original tachometer and gauge dash with rare radio-delete plate.
This Chevelle is certainly an attention grabber and has benefited from a comprehensive professional restoration. The body on this Chevelle is outstanding, perfectly straight panels, excellent fitment, and a flawless finish attest to the high-level of craftsmanship that this car was subject to. Yenko Chevrolet's history dates back to 1929, the year Frank Yenko opened a Durant dealership. After Durant folded in 1932, Yenko opened a Chevrolet dealership in Bentleyville, PA in 1934. In 1949, Yenko opened a second Chevrolet dealership in Canonsburg, PA. In 1957, Frank's son Don took over the dealership. Known for his modified Chevrolets, Don ran the dealership until 1982. Operating between 1949 and 1982, the dealership is best known for selling customized muscle cars in the late 1960s. Referred to today as "Yenkos," they are among the most collectible 1960s vehicles.
