Description for Chevrolet El Camino 1971
For Sale is a 1971 Chevy El Camino which I think is a nice driver not a show car. I bought it in 2009 from a guy in Indiana. When I bought it he had about 900 miles on a fresh rebuilt engine, transmissio, rearend, brake, suspension and drive shaft. The engine is a early 1970's 454 bored over to a 468 with 781 heads. It has a 305 H-10 Hyd comp cam, team G intake, holley carb, mallory dist with an msd box. The turbo 400 is fresh with manual valve body and receipts and the 12 bolt has new bearings, new richmond 3.55 gears, new eaton posi unit and new strange axles. The car also has adjustable upper and lower rear control arms and new shocks. The truck also has Center line rims. I drove the car maybe 1500 miles and it sat in my garage most of the time. I had the body done and painted in 2011 from a friends shop. We put NOS front fenders, Texas doors and tailgate. A fiberglass lift off hood that is pinned on with no hinges. We also put a new right side rear quarter, outer wheel house and part of a rocker. Some of the trim is NOS and the other trim is used with pits. The frame is solid with some surface rust and over spray when it was painted. There are also some welded on brackets left over from some 70's side pipes. The floors are good with some very small rust holes. The right rear trunk extension had rust so we cut off a few inchs and just made brackets for the quarter. We rolled both rear wheel well lips for wider tires. The panel behind the seat has rust holes. This was never going to be a show truck I just wanted a driver. The truck drives and runs very well and looks good but it still needs some tlc. The truck has no, radio, heater box or wiper motor. I do have a couple of boxes of extra parts at my storage that will be included. I do not remember what is in the boxes. The two small problems that I know about is that the rear diff cover seeps and will need a new gasket and every once and a while after you drive it and let it sit it will puff a little blue smoke out the exhaust. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. If you have low feed back you must email me before bidding. If you need or would like to come see the truck in person just ask. The truck is sold as is and must be picked up from Wisconsin zip code 53218. I will not take credit cards or Pay Pal for this Truck. I would like Cash when you pick it up. This truck is for sale locally. Thank you for looking.
