Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1970
The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was one of the baddest cars on the streets, and it's one of the most desired muscle cars today. So finding one that has been upgraded in all the right ways (strong V8, four-wheel discs, bucket seats) might just be the right way to affordably become the king of the neighborhood.Giving a Chevelle an SS makeover isn't a new fad, but when you have one of the most attractive muscle cars around, people tend to respect it. So when the time came for a restoration, they decided to go all-out and give it a show-quality respray that would emulate one of Chevy's most potent machines. This car has had a lot of work transforming what was once a Champaign Gold coupe, into the mean machine you see today. The sought after Cortez Silver paint shines like a lightning bolt, and highlights the exceptionally straight body. Black dual SS stripes, blacked-out SS grille, and black rubber rear add to this very aggressive appearance. But on a classic Chevelle, the brightwork is just as important as the darker elements. Nice chrome bumpers, polished stainless fender trim, and iconic American Racing Torq Thrust wheels help complete a package that looks ready for a weekend's worth of cruising.Just like the exterior, the interior was given the right muscle car makeover. The original brown was replaced with a much more aggressive black. We doubt there has been much seat time since this restoration because the carpets, door panels, and seats all feel factory fresh. Bucket seats, center console, and an iconic horseshoe shifter means this is exactly what you want in a Chevelle. And there's even provisions for air conditioning so you can choose to keep all the passengers happy, too. The driver gets a Chevy's upgraded three-spoke steering wheel. Plus, the extra set of gauges for oil, water, and power, keep you in tune with all the action going on under the hood. And just for those few times that the exhaust isn't your favorite soundtrack, an Alpine AM/FM/CD player was installed so you can choose some modern tunes. If you read this far, then you know the motor has to be something special if it's going to live up to the SS name that's now prominently on the car. It's a 350 cubic-inch V8 that was built with some great upgrades. When you pop the hood it impresses with all its chrome on the valve covers, air cleaner, alternator, and much more. Beyond all the shiny bits, you'll recognize the substance in the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, headers, and a rumbling H-pipe dual exhaust. But what really makes this Chevelle superior are the pro touring modern upgrades. It has a Hotchkiss Stage 1 suspension kit, including a new sway bar in front and traction bars in the rear. Plus, the brakes have been upgraded to four-wheel discs with slotted rotors. Add in power steering, a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, and the modern grip of Kumho tires, and this classic Chevelle is a great all-around driver.Complete with original warranty info, owner's manual, and Protect-O-Plate, this Chevelle blends the world of vintage and new perfectly all for a great price.
