Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1971
1971 Chevelle SS project carOriginal Nevada Silver paintNice build sheetBeing relisted due to a no sale last time. I sold the car with the IL. title from 1978 and the buyer did not want it like that and did not want to wait for me to get the title. I will have a good PA. title in my name by the time this listing ends.
Up for sale is my 1971 Chevelle SS project car. I will do my best to describe the cars condition. Please email me through Ebay or call me at 610-442-2503 if you have any questions. If I do not answer please leave a message and I will call back as soon as I can. I bought this car about three years ago but don't see me getting to it for a while. I am looking at buying another car so if the other car gets sold I will not be selling this Chevelle. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime for any reason so if you are serious about the car don't wait until the last minute. Thank you.
This is an original paint car (except for the silly stripe that was added years ago) that has been off of the road since the early 80's. This car has 88k original miles on it. The body is pretty clean and the body panels line up great. There is normal rust in the bottom of the fenders and inside corners of the doors. The quarters are very clean and 98% solid. The hood and trunk are also in great shape. The convertible top works fine but will need to be replaced as you can see. This car has an excellent frame and trunk. The floors suffered rust and will need to be patched/replaced. I do have a brand new 1 piece floor that will go with the car. Yes I know it is missing the rear bumper emblem. The car was tapped in the rear years ago and they just replaced it with a regular bumper.
The interior is original and complete. I do have the console but you can't fit it in because of the shifter that is currently installed will not allow the console to fit. This car is equipped with bucket seats, Console, Factory tach and gauges etc. This car also has a rear defrost which is pretty rare on a convertible. This Chevelle also came with factory air which was removed years ago but I do have a complete AC setup out if another 1971 Chevelle. As you can see the interior will need to be redone but it is complete.
The engine is not original and currently does not run. It is a 1973 454 that does crank but I never tried to get it running. The transmission is a Muncie 4 speed but I don't know if it is original or not. It does have what appears to be it's original 12 bolt posi rear. The Chevelle does have power steering and power disc brakes. All of the vital components are there, It is just a matter of refurbishing everything. My goal was to get it running and driving, Put a new top on, Sand the stripe off and drive it the way it is. There are lots of restored cars but very few still wearing their original paint.
Look at the pictures carefully and you can see most of the damage on the car. Pay attention to the build sheet and options that this Chevelle has. This is a nicely optioned SS convertible that will be worth a lot once it is restored. Thanks for looking and good luck.
