Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1953
This is one of the most solid '53 Chevy Bel Air hardtops you will ever find.Exterior:
- This car is the most rock solid 1953 Chevy hardtop I have ever come across. The inner rocker panels, floor pans, trunk pan, etc. are all super solid and rust free. I have several photos of the underside of the car from when I had the car on the lift that I would be happy to text or email to anyone seriously interested.
- The paint is decent driver quality but has some imperfections here and there.
- All glass is really nice minus one tiny stone chip in the windshield and all of the windows all roll up and down very well.
- All of the trim, grille and bumpers are in very good shape and only have a few very small dings here and there.
- The 15" steel wheels are in good shape and have newer radial white wall tires on them.
- All of the interior is in exceptional shape.
- The front carpet is new.
- The door panels appear to be newer and are in near perfect shape.
- It has really nice original seat covers with the plastic seat covering. The driver's side of the front seat has some cracking in the plastic as seen in the photos but the rest of the plastic seat covers are really nice.
- The dash is in great shape and the steering wheel looks near perfect and doesn't have any major cracks.
- The headliner is really nice as well.
- The original 235 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder runs great, holds really good oil pressure, doesn't get hot and moves the car down the road well.
- The original 2 speed Powerglide automatic shifts good and doesn't slip.
- The original rear end seems to have a highway friendly gear ratio as I have driven the car 60+ with ease.
- The original manual steering feels tight and combined with the big steering wheel makes it easy to move the car around, even at slow speeds.
- The original manual 4 wheel drum brakes stop the car well and it doesn't pull to the left or right when braking.
