Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955
This is a 1955 Chevy Belair with only 43,905 original miles. It was purchased in St. Petersburg, Florida by my father in February 1976, and this car has been kept and still is in the same St. Petersburg private garage for over 40 years. My Dad had spotted this car back in the 50's parked in a lady's garage every time he would mow her yard, so twenty years later he stopped by her house and asked "Whatever happened to that old 55 Chevy that used to be parked in your garage ?". Well the rest is history. I don't know for sure, but it is possible that this car was purchased new by that lady from Ross Chevrolet ( Now Maher Chevrolet ) in St. Petersburg, Fl.This car has been driven about 25 miles per year since it was purchased in 1976, and it has been well cared for. My father did a restoration on this car about 20 years ago including new paint, interior, headliner, emblems, hood bird, sill plates, re-chromedbumpers etc. In the last couple of years I have replaced the gas tank, fuel gaugesender unit, heater hoses, fuel pump, installed seat belts in front and rear, and the carburetorhas been rebuilt. I also replaced the tires with new Diamond Back white wall tires about 2 years ago. The tires still have the new tire spikes on them. The car starts right up every time and the motor and transmission seem to be in excellent condition. I did install an original AM radio a few years back as the car came with a blank plate over the radio. The radio needs to have an antenna and the speaker/amplifieradded to operate. The fuel gaugesometimes will "float" from 1/2 to full tank while driving, but it does seemto be operating. The wiper motor is electric.
This 55 Chevy Belair is being sold as-is with no warranty. This car is available to be inspected and driven before you purchase it, and I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
