Description for Chevrolet C-10 1978
Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a great ’78 C10 Short Wide. I bought this over the summer to use as a “Shop Truck”. When I bought it I has plans of lowering it, putting on a set of 18” wheels and dropping in an LS, but my wife has since decided that she wants me to build her an F100 shop truck like her Dad used to have. So, now my C10 is up for auction to make room for the F100 she wants. All I was able to get done before my wife decided she needed an F100 was get it lowered 4” with lowering springs in the front and a flip kit in the rear.
The previous owner extensively restored this truck several years ago. The truck was stripped to its bare shell and any rust was cut out and replaced. The replaced panels were the cab corners, rockers, floors, doors, bed floor, and bed sides. Once the new metal was installed, the body was prepped and a verynice paint job was applied. The paint looks like it then was cut and polished because it has a nice smooth, deep shine. The interior received a new headliner, carpet and recovered seat as well as all newrubber seals in the doors and windows. The engine compartment is very sanitary and pretty clean. At the time of the restoration a mid 60's 327 with an automatic transmission was installed and the truck rides on a nice set of factory rally wheels with plenty of tread on the tires. The truck also has duel fuel tanks.
This truck is ready to go and can be driven anywhere. The previous owner enjoyed the truckafter the restoration and it saw pretty regular use onnice weekends. As nice as it is, it does wear some beauty marks from the previous owner’s enjoyment and time. There are a few areas where paint chips have been touched up, a little surface rust forming on the bottom of the driver’s door (see pictures), a few tiny chipped spots on the inside of the bed rails and tail gate that have surface rust and a small crack in thewindshield. The engine starts and runs greatbut it does drip a little oil when it sits. The transmission shifts nicely.
