Description for Chevrolet Impala 1963
This 1963 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is optioned with the 283 cubic inch V8 and Powerglide transmission. This is a real convertible (not a converted coupe) and is in good driver quality condition.
The ‘Jet Smooth’ styling of the ‘63 Impala is a favorite of many. The V shaped front and rear styling treatments are subtle compared to earlier Impalas, but are beautifully sculpted with an aluminum grill and rear taillight panel.
This Impala is mechanically solid and will be sold with a new PA inspection sticker upon request. It recently had both head gaskets replaced, the carburetor rebuilt, a new gas tank, new tubular lower control arms, new shock absorbers, new suspension bushings all around, a fresh alignment, new brake shoes, new battery, and various other parts replaced. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts smooth. This Impala is ready to be driven.
The exterior is painted white with a white top and chrome spoke rims. The car presents well, but upon closer inspection there is some evidence of poor body work around the rocker panels and behind the front and rear bumper. The bumpers are bright despite some pitting. The aluminum grill trim is slightly bent in some places. The power top is in great shape (it works too) and looks to have been replaced in recent past. The floor pans have been undercoated and are in good shape. Overall, the exterior is not “show quality,” but is structurally solid.
The interior is in excellent condition. The red vinyl bench seats, dash, and carpets all look like they have been reupholstered/replaced recently. The gauges are clear and functional except for the clock. There is an oversized speedometer and a hot/cold gauge, both work great.
