Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1967
In 1967 ALL true 138 Super Sport Chevelles came from the factory with 396 engines. There were a few dealers back in the day that would offer High Performance Dealer installed 427 engines. Baldwin Chevrolet was one of the more famous dealers with their "Baldwin Motion" program. This Chevelle is a replica of their most famous car. The Baldwin 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS427. Built on a True 138 SS Chevelle factory 4spd with Power steering, Power Disc brakes and 12 bolt posi traction 3.73 rear end. Original Correct Marina blue with Black vinyl top and Black interior. Rust Free California car that shows 48k and looks to have been resprayed once. This car was owned for the past 15 years by AMS Racing and was built to showcase their engine shop. It was stored inside their shop and has only 350 miles on the motor and transmission. One Re spray 25 plus years ago, there are some minor flaws. Small bubbles by the hood inserts, by the bottom of the rear passenger sail panel. Also some minor flaws in the paint on the hood, along the hood, and other parts of the car. Car looks AWESOME! I'm just trying to say its not perfect. However it is in great shape for being 49 years old and is not a bonded up rust bucket. California Car clean underneath and well taken care of. The interior is clean and complete with factory bucket seats and console. Looks like the carpet was replaced back when it was painted, everything else appears original. Everything works except the clock and the heater. The heater was removed to hide the MSD ignition box and coil (heater core and blower are included in sale). All lights and gauges work. There is an aftermarket tach attached to the steering column and an aftermarket water temp gauge tucked away in the glovebox. Headliner is in great shape. All windows work great and are free from any binding. The motor is a AMS Racing 470ci. When dyno'd the motor made 620HP and 595 TRQ at the crank (I have dyno sheets, build list and all paperwork related to the build of this motor). 454 block, 781 oval port ported and flowed heads, SRP pistons, Eagle forged crank and rods, Manley timing chain, Melling's oil pump, Edelbrock intake, Holley 850HP carb, MSD distributor, Manley bolts, Comp Cam 11-999-3. Motor runs great on premium pump gas. The transmission is a Muncie M-21 bolted to a Lakewood scattershield bellhousing with a custom Ram clutch, and a Hurst shift linkage setup to get all the power down to the wheels. The rear end is a GM Corporate 12bolt with 3.73 gears and a posi unit. The power disc brakes up front work great with the 15" Torque Thrust wheels and Redline tires. The cooling system in this car is impeccable with the oversized 4core radiator. Never runs hot. Starts every time. Easy to drive with power steering and power disc brakes. If you want a numbers matching slug this is not your car. If you want a True Super Sport that has a professionally built motor that will walk the walk and talk the talk, This is your car. This Super Sport Commands attention wherever it goes and will eat just about anything on the street. The "BUY IT NOW" price is what I'm asking. The opening bid is my bottom dollar. You can spend weeks watching auctions never hit reserve, wondering. You know where I stand.
