Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1968
I originally bought this car as a race car. It was running 7. 50 in the quarter mile with a big block. I checked it out and saw that the car had absolutely no rust. so I decided to buy it and make it into a street car. I took the fiberglass door out. kept the fiberglass front end. entire dash. and trunk lid. which brings the cars weight to a mere 2600lbs. It has a 14 point cage and the car has been totally rewired for the street. completely street legal with proper turn signals. stop lights. high beams low beams. fuel gauge etc. I took the 411 gear spool in a Dana 60. and changed it to 355 gears with posi. It still has the Strange axles. It has a ladder bar suspension. The front suspension is rack and pinion with A Arms I bought a 598 with 1. 80HP from SAG Performance in Indiana that cost me $21. 00. It has all high dollar pieces like stainless steel top rings and total seal second. diamond pistons. crower rods. crower crank. I took the solid roller cam out and changed the cam and lifters to a solid to drop the hp down to a saner 900HP to make it more streetable. The heads are Hunter Killer with titanium valves that cost me an additional $1. 00. 00 on the price. I choose the solid camshaft so I can drive it long distances without taking a chance of breaking a valve or roller lifter because of the 300 pound seat pressure. This beast is now entirely street legal. with 900HP under the pedal. ALL WHILE running at a cool 180 degrees EVEN IN TRAFFIC. I installed all factory glass all the way around and bought all new doors and door panels. I also took the Edelbrock out and used two 780 Holleys on a cross ram. I had to use a 3800 converter to HANDLE all of this power! The car has disk brakes all the way around and a double master cylinder for extra stopping power. The car is DEADLY on the street. but safe as can be! Oh and on top of all this. you have an extra 400HP Nitrous on a call button (Which you don’t need). It has 16inch wheels with brand new 14X32 slicks ready to change if you want to go to the track. Right now it has 16inch wide street tires on it. I have the wheelie bars for the car which are super easy to install only 4 bolts. It has coil over and Koni double adjustable shocks. I insulated the floorboard under the carpet to keep some of the sound out and to keep the car cooler inside. It has a 16 volt system. battery. and alternator. The headers are super comp 2 ¼ by 4 inch collectors. 4 inch mufflers and 4 inch pipes. The exhaust runs all the way to the back of the car.
