Before I begin. I would encourage all serious buyers to contact me directly at 1-517-990-2646 with any questions or concerns. This very rare 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II SS hardtop is a “118” true SS. This is a real deal 327ci/275hp 4-speed car. Please take time to look at all the pictures. In 1966 the Nova SS was restyled. Nova SS was top of the line. The 194 cu in (3. 18 L) inline-six was standard on the Super Sport. but any Chevy II (excluding four-cylinder) engine could be coupled with the SS. The Nova SS was visually distinguished by wide rocker panels and a bright aluminum deck lid cove. It had bright SS emblems on the grille and in the ribbed rear panel. and Super Sport script on the quarter panels. Strato-bucket front seats were included. but a tachometer cost extra. The ’66 Chevy II sales brochure clearly promoted the Super Sport as the “Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Super Sport. but the name "Nova" was not used anywhere on the body. Front and rear emblems displayed "Chevy II SS. " In 1967. Chevy II was still the name of the vehicle. but the Nova SS option package replaced all Chevy II badging with Nova SS badging. This car is nice inside. out. and underneath looks very nice for driver quality as does the truck pan. I believe it has all original sheet metal. This car came from the south and was not a rusty car. It was owned by Hut Stricklin of NASCAR fame and was part of the “Alabama gang”. The paint is Bright Red and looks great with a few flaws. Black bucket seat interior. the color combo is stunning. The original color was Chateau slate. The car has a nice paint job on it and is very straight down the sides with very minimum showing of age. All chrome and trim is nice. as is the all the glass. Overall the car looks great and can be used and enjoyed as is or someone could do a complete restoration and have a very rare and very collectible Chevy II Nova SS all correct and components. The drive train. a 327ci/275hp engine pad numbers V02IZA motor starts and runs very strong. has double hump heads. correct exhaust manifolds and drives very nice. I believe the car is a numbers matching motor. The car does have a Holley carburetor and Edelbrock aluminum intake. The car comes with the 4-speed transmission making it very drivable with the stock 10 bolt rear end. I believe. Newer black wall radials P195/65/14 front and P215/70/15 rear have been mounted on very nice chrome wheels the stance looks very nice. Exhaust sounds great with the factory manifolds and dual exhaust. Like everything else. the interior is very original with new front seat covers. It has ever poplar black bucket seat interior. The car has the factory console. am/fm/cass radio in the dash installed (did not cut up dash). Nice set of aftermarket gauges mounted under that dash and work great as does the wipers. heater. gas and speedo. Dash. door panels. carpet. headliner (sail panels showing a little age). sun visors. steering wheel. etc. etc everything is nice. This car is nice everywhere you look. great for local cruise-ins and a few local shows and should get a trophy or two. I would encourage anyone who wants to buy this car to come and inspect this car.
