Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1954
Up for auction is a rare opportunity to own a 1954 Chevy 3100 1/2 ton short bed pickup built by the Lowrider hall of fame car builder Eddie Tovar. I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase this truck from Mr. Tovar, and I have now found myself traveling in a different direction. Truck was featured in Lowrider magazine, Classic Truck magazine and taken to a few indoor car shows upon completion. This truck has not been out of the garage many times as the odometer reflects. This was a frame off build and everything is brand new from top tobottom, painted inthe original 54 GM Salmon/Coppertone by Eddie and Victor Melgoza. The paint is gorgeous as well as the complete under carriage and drivetrain. Inside the cab was painted the GM fawn/grey/tan (satin/flat), and looks amazing with theoriginal type patternnaugahyde brown seat, door panels & headliner.
69 Camaro front end and complemented by a four linked El Camino rear end, all of which is actuated for driving or laying frame by a Homies two pump hydraulic system with 4 brand new batteries. This hydraulic system works extremely well and the ride is incredible. 6 switches (Front, Back, Sides, Corners, Pancake).
For power, its all conventional means in the way of the Thriftmaster 235 6cylinder, but behind that, a Buffalo Enterprises adapter kit was used to allow the mating of a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. You can get on the freeway and easily cruise 70-80mph with the flow of traffic in todays time. 1954 Bel Air full disc hubcaps were installed on powder coated 15" wheels with Uniroyal 5.60-15's for the rubber. Utility rear bumper with 47-48fleetline tail lights that lays on the ground.
- Appleton Spotlights
