Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1956
NICELY RESTORED 1956 BELAIR 2 DOOR POST!!
gasser style
OK guys here you go!! I'm helping my father disperse a few of his cars, he's getting a little older and is realizing he just can't do what he used to be able to do!! I'm a Missouri dealer and we did a lot of work here in house over the past two monthbut there was4 years, on and off of work done previously by another shop that got into his pocket book if you know what I mean! Anyway, that doesn't matter now and the car WILL BE SOLD, So if you're a serious buyer call me early to arrange a buy-it-now, I'll guarantee the car will not last the duration of the auction especially at what he's willing to sell it for. There's easily $35,000 invested If I had to guess.
Here's what I know, car was purchased in the early 2000's as a roller, gasser drag car from the late 60's early 70's. Car had no drivetrain, glass, interior, it was just a shell of a really cool car, had crazy rainbow paint, big Dana rear axle and a hole in the hood where the tunnel ram used to sit I'd guess. He put togethera ton of parts, both bought and saved from other cars to build it.
The car is absolutely turn key! But has not been driven since completed except to the Missouri State highway patrol for inspection, and a few short trips around town; so please don't ask if you can fly in and drive it to Alaska, I'll say yes but don't call 50 miles down the road!LOL!But it does everything it should, starts great, stops good, doesn't overheat, and shifts right! The plan was vintage heat and AC BUT it did not get done, so the heater function is unknown and the original vacuum wipers need converted to electric! That's it! It's ready to enjoy!
Car was painted 4 years ago, Hugger orange and white base coat clear coat, all new glass, driver floor pan, wheel arches, outer rockers, and a truck patch. It's straight and has very very nice paint! BUT I'm not trying to sell it as a 100 point show car!! It's a professional job for sure!! The stainless is original pieced together from donor cars and very good since he picked the best pieces, front bumper has some pitting, rear bumper was sand blasted and painted silver, tail light hidden gascap still remains. We undercoated the car and detailed the truck with GM spatter paint and looks great.
All the interiorhas new upholstery, including 1965 Impala bucket seats, dash removed and repainted, carpet, door cards, kickpanels, package tray, rear seat cover and seat belts. Headliner is new but needs restretched from sitting in hot storage building or you might be better off just buying a new one.
Engine was rebuilt and is said to be a 1969 300 Horse 350 out of a Chevelle. When built, he added a 365HP corvette grind hydraulic camshaft, roller rockers, pete Jackson quiet gear drive, hooker headers, HEI ignition, high rise aluminum intake, 650 edelbrock carb, and of course, water pump, alternator, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, etc.SOUNDS AWESOME!! AND WILL BURN THE TIRES OFF IF THAT'S YOUR THING! COME ON, IT'S A HOT ROD!A very light detail under the hood and it would look brand new, IT'S PAINTED VERY NICE JUST A LITTLE DUST! The car literally can't have 100 miles on it!!! The rear axle is 69 Pontiac 10 bolt that hasall new seals &bearings and brakes.
New parts I'm for sure of that we did: Ball joints, tie rods, shocks, idler arm, complete brakes (all drums, shoes, hardware kits, wheel cylinders, hoses, lines, etc), dual reservoir master cylinder, front springs, ladder bars, gas tank, fuel sending unitand tank straps, rear wiring harness including LED tail lights, complete rebuild of the rear axle, all lightingfunctions, billet tilt column, tri five engineering solid motor mount conversion,350 turbo transmission and floor shifter, trio gauges, 4 new raised white letter tires, 4 wheel alignment, rear seat belts, aluminum radiator, overflow tank, transmission cooler and lines, door lock cylinders, trunk cylinder, ignition switch.
So bid away! Absolutely call and ask any questions 573-680-3097. I'll answer what I can and if I can't I'll get an answer. Just saying you guys know what you're looking at and what it costs to get one to this stage is not only expensive but takes a lot of time! I really don't want to take the car to a Mecum or other auction and deal with commission and transport, and neither should you! You have no idea what you're buying and the commission is getting crazy. I'm happy getting you a transport quote from a shipper we use here at the dealership as well. If you're close call and make arrangements to look in person. But it's obviously sold as-is, where-is, and is a very nice DRIVER quality car you can be proud to own!!
