Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1956
1956 Chevrolet Apache 3200 truck for sale by owner. I am the 3rd owner of the truck. Truck was purchased new in El Paso, TX by a family that owned a large property and wanted a truck for errands. They owned it for 30 years then sold it to a pastor. He eventually moved east in the 90s. At this point he had it repainted using the paint code for the factory original color. The truck is rock solid (thank you west Texas!). The motor fires right up every time. Column shifter shifts smooth and easily. Apparently anytime it needed work someone from the congregation helped. Must be nice.
Being I am 1 full congregation short I have done everything myself since buying it.
1. Bought a fresh professionally rebuilt carb from a shop in Colorado. Amazing experience - bolted on out of the box and the truck was instantly perfectly tuned.
2. Replaced thermostat and top hose.
3. Replaced hub caps. See photo of chrome hub cap.
4. Replaced sending unit so gas gauge works now.
5. Professionally recovered bench with an incredible brown vinyl. Some of these photos show the old bench cover before getting it replaced.
6. Purchased and installed a new rubber floor mat. This is the $200 version, not the $30 one.
7. Replaced all bulbs so they work.
8. Replaced the rear view mirror.
9. Oil change.
10. New Optima battery.
Honestly, this is a really incredible truck. Paint is not perfect and there's a couple dings. I have many collector cars and I get far more thumbs up and smiles driving this. It runs down the street really well. Amazes my wife and I every time. Only selling because I need the money more than I need the truck.
