Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1965
1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS-TRUE 138 SS Car, Original 327/4 SpeedMotor is a 1969 396ci Big Block (Sounds great at Idle)
1968 Pontiac GTO, M20 4 Speed Transmission
1964 & 1965 Malibus were very similar with the exception of a few cosmetic changes. With those changes it made these cars 1 year production cars. 1966 the body style changed, limiting this body to only two years. Per the previous owner the car was purchased straight off of the showroom floor and taken to the track. In another life the rear end was tubbed and it was converted to a straight front axle. At some point the original 327 was used up. I purchased the car from the gentleman who brought it back to its original starting point. New rear quarters, factory rear end, replaced the truck skin (from being tubbed) and put the front end back to independent front suspension. Below is what has been done to the car since I have owned it over the past few years. I was heading in the direction of Pro Touring. If you ask my wife, I go through cars quickly. Always looking for the next cool toy. I've found the next, so...
Solid floors and trunk. The frame looks as if it were painted. Some areas are beginning to peel though there is no rust. No bondo or patched body panels that I know of. Previous owner took the body to bare metal before paint. I do not think he filled or blocked and sanded prior to paint. I believe that he just primed and painted. Damn straight car for its age. Some body panels and the doors need to be aligned for it to be perfectly straight.
