Description for Chevrolet Caprice 1989
Up for sale is my all original, 1989 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 with 113,500 miles. This particular Caprice has the Police Package (9C1) as well as a factory fuel injected 350ci V8 engine (L05). I recently placed a PA Antique plate on it. I collect oddball/rare cars from the 80s and I had to have this one in my collection. Sadly, I moved last year once my lease was up, and the house I bought only has a two-car garage, not enough to keep my entire collection inside. And with storage unit prices near me at $150-175 a month, I cannot afford to keep everything which is why I need to liquidate a few vehicles, this being one of the ones to go. Some of the options on this car include:- (L05) 350ci Fuel Injected V8 (190hp)
- (MD8) THM 700-4 Automatic Transmission
- (9C1) Police Package
- (7B3) HD Suspension/handling, sway bars, etc.
- (29U) Exterior color – dark blue metallic
- (6P7) Dual remote mirrors
- (6A3) HD flooring/rubber
- (207 and 209) - Dk Sapphire HD Interior
- (A75 and A76) - HD Seat Cushions
- (A90) interior trunk release button
- (CD4) Delay wipers
- (FLT) Fleet processing option
- (GU6) 3.42 rear end gears
- (G80) Limited slip rear end
- (J55) HD brakes
- (MX0) Overdrive transmission
- (UH6 and 7Z4) gauge cluster oil/volts/temp
- (U64) Am/FM radio stereo 4 speaker
- (V08) HD Cooling system
- (1Z2) Anti corrosion Hot-melt protection
- (7L1) 120amp Alternator
- (7L8) HD cooling transmission
- (7L9) HD cooling steering
- (7P8) HD cooling engine
- (7Z9) Police type cluster certified 125mph speedometer
Some of the newer parts installed are a brand new fuel tank, exhaust from the cat back including a polished flow through muffler, headliner, and an Optima battery. The car is spotless underneath, but does have a few small rust bubbles starting on the driver side rear quarter panel (Seen in picture), the hood and trunk are faded but could probably be compounded and buffed out, and the roof has a spot where the paint is worn from what looks like a roof mounted antenna or light (Seen in picture). The chrome is in very nice shape, and I still have the factory full wheel covers that came with the car along with the baby moon hubcaps seen in the pictures.
This Caprice comes with a CLEAN PA TITLE and currently has PA Antique plates on it. Everything stated above is to the best of my knowledge.Remember, these cars were built to be driven, and this fine example has led a somewhat pampered life, only seeing minimal action as a Monroeville Constable’s car for the first few years of its life.
More pictures can be taken upon request, and the vehicle can be inspected/ looked over by any potential buyer or third party inspector. The car is located in Allison Park, PA right off the PA Turnpike exit 39. I have the car listed locally too and I will have the right to remove the ad if the cars sells locally. I am selling the 1989 Caprice AS-IS, with no warranty stated or implied. The vehicle is 28 years old, however, it operates exactly as it should and I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it anywhere. I will also work with you if you need the car shipped, but the cost is on the buyer. After full payment is made, vehicle will need to be removed from my property within 10 days, or on the 11th day forward, a $20 per day storage fee will be charged. I only do this since I have had buyers pay for vehicles I’ve sold them, and then 5 weeks later they finally come collect their car when they ‘feel’ like it. I will work with the buyer, but at the same time I appreciate the vehicle being picked up in a timely manner so I do not have to charge a storage fee.
