See this truck on Instagram with hashtags: #1968c30 #convertibletruck #ratrodtruck
-Engine: Chevrolet 307ci 5.0L
- Original Miles: Odometer reads 44991 (but could be 144991?)
-Transmission: 3-Speed Muncie, with Granny Gear, and PTO option
Rearend: Eaton
-Exhaust: 3 1/2" Borla XR-1, with a Duravent stack (used in HVAC applications).
-Homemade Wooden Flat Bed (three coats of stain, two coats of marine varnish), with a mounted spun-aluminum fuel tank.
-3" Windshield Chop (just needs your final touch with adding a ragtop, etc.. or just leave it as a convertible). "Roll-bars" are bolt-on, so they can be removed easily. You or someone just needs to weld top of A-posts to finish-it-off (see photo). This c30 was originally a tow truck, and after being retired, it then sat in a field, from at-least 1991 up until January 2014. With a little TLC, it fired right-up. Only the things that needed to be replaced, have been replaced.
--All new brake lines, new brake booster, new aluminum-spun gas tank(18gal), and braided fuel line, new in-line fuel filter (on frame rail), new spark plugs, battery, new clutch kit, new starter, new front tires (rears are two years old), new chrome wheel simulators, new head/tail lights, new wipers, new shocks, new alternator, new seat belts (lap style), new steering wheel, all new brakes..
--No heat or AC.
This was not a frame-off custom build. We used the "Grab-and-Fab" ethic, using most things we had laying around in the garage, and never wanted a "catalog" vehicle. This is a TRUE Rat Rod, somewhat ugly, but completely badass. It's got dents and dings from its earlier towing days.. It runs and drives with no issues, and turns-heads everywhere.
It's a real-deal rat rod. The wheels are from a 1992 Chevy dually, the front bumper and bench seat are from a 1988 GMC, the rear fenders are cellar window wells mounted by copper pipe. The mud flaps are from an 80's isuzu rack truck.. The front turn signals, even-though they are brand new, are what you would see on a school bus.
Always garage-kept, and never driven in snow/salt, since I have had it..

Truck is located in Rotterdam, New York 12303, and can be shipped anywhere, at purchaser's expense.
This truck has a current New York State registration, and is inspected. Since it is a pre-1981 vehicle, I just have to sign-over the registration to the new owner, and it's theirs...after payment, of-course :).. There is no title because of its age. If the buyer is out-of-state, they need to find a reputable vehicle transport company. When the transport driver arrives to pick-up the vehicle, I simply hand him/her the registration, bill of sale (which we would do through e-mail/fax), two sets of keys, and other paperwork I have (I saved every receipt, etc..). I will also take a video of the whole process, and once the transport driver leaves, I will send the new owner the video, just for piece-of-mind. Message me for any questions.
Thank you for looking.
