Description for Chevrolet C-10 1978
Hi folks. My sons and I are pleased to offer you a very special square body Chevrolet. I came across this truck by accident. It wasn't for sale and was stored away in a nice gentleman's garage for the last 30 years. Our intention was to keep this baby, but we (my sons and I) have found it very enjoyable to go out and discover hidden treasures in our area and bring them to you. Please save us to your favorite sellers page, as from time to time we will be offering high quality rides to the Ebay community. Now let me tell you about this one.1978 C10 Silverado. This is a highly optioned short bed truck to include the following factory items: 350 4BBL engine, 400 turbo trans, extra wide rally rims w/ spinners, tinted glass, sliding rear window (latch missing), bed rails, tilt, cruise, tach, air, power steering and brakes, power windows and locks, deluxe interior, etc.. The build sheet is included as well as other factory and '78 dealer literature. This truck is like a time capsule. Still taped behind the seat is a business card of a United Auto Workers' Union employee from '78. On the passenger's visor is the factory advertisement on how to buckle your seat belt. There is some other interesting local history attached with the truck as well. Out of respect to their families, I will only let the buyer know about this as to protect the identity of the previous two owners. It's a nice story. The truck has NO rust. I have covered all of the usual areas with soft magnets. Steel is in place. It has had one repaint (base/clear) 10-12 years ago. It is high quality and shines beautifully. The color is Saratoga Silver and white. The previous owner told me that this is the original combo. The build sheet says silver and grey, so I can't say for sure. It's gorgeous regardless. The undercarriage is clean and rust proofed. I'm not talking about a cheap coverup. It was well done and presents nicely. The interior is beautiful with minor wear. The seat belts have faded some. I did install new carpet as moths had eaten the old during its long storage. All of the rubber seals are soft and in great condition (no leaks). The cab is airtight. I have also replaced the brakes front and back to include master cylinder and booster. I also installed a Flowmaster exhaust system. It has true duals and sounds amazing. The bed is straight and solid, though there are a few scratches on the humps. A spay on liner was added to the bed floor at some point. It still presents well. The chrome and stainless is beautiful. The rear bumper shows a little age, but looks nice. There is one small paint chip on the driver's door about half the size of a dime. The air conditioning engages but needs charged or converted over. The heat will burn you up. All gauges are clean, bright, and work.
The truck is beautiful and dependable. You'll be getting a truck you can unload and take straight to the cruise-in which is all my sons and I have done. I can't even begin to tell you about all the attention this one gets. I believe the miles of 138,000 to be correct. The motor is strong with NO smoke or issues. The transmission sifts perfectly. A good way to describe the previous owner would be meticulous. There isn't even any dust under the dash. There is a very fair reserve on the truck. If it gets close near the auction end, I will lift it. I know you'll be satisfied! Thank You.
