Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1951
Relisted due to a non-performing successful bidder.Up for auction is a 1951 Chevy 3600 Pickup. Looks to me like this is a 3600, makes it a 3/4 ton truck. 6 cylinder gas engine, disassembled, but believe it to be complete. Manual transmission, VIN number is 21JRB2976. This is a non-running, non-operational pick. Will need restoration and repair to drive. The block is still in the frame, head and manifolds have been removed. Carb and air cleaner are there. I do not see the head bolts, but if was rebuilding, I would have new ones anyway.
There are a couple of running Chevy/GMC straight 6 motors in the neighborhood, both are under $500. So it is practical to get this rig running and driving if you like, with limited expense and effort.
This pickup spent most of its life in South Dakota, a state that uses very little salt on the roads in the winter. It does have rust, and I have seen a lot worse than this truck. I have included several pictures, tried to show all the rust and the dents. If condition is a huge componentto your opinion of its value, I suggest you come take a look before bidding. One man's not too bad, is another's disaster. Please take the time to view it in person, I will not reopen the auction, or field your complaints when you are here with your trailer. That's what the pictures are about.
This will need extensive repair and restoration to hit the road again. Bid accordingly.
