Description for Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible 1951
1951 Chevy Styleline DeLuxe convertible; fully sorted to handle hot weather cruising with a new high capacity radiator, dual electric fans and electric auxiliary fuel pump. Nice black single stage paint and Naugahyde interior and top in red, by Autoweave (imho, the best upholstery shop in Denver). New convertible top pump and cylinders. Modern stereo with dual driver dash speakers and woofer/tweeters under front seat and removable Sirius satellite radio which can be taken in your house and run through your stereo. Will also accept iPods, etc. Repro lancer hubcaps (with three extras) and wide white walls built on Michelin radial tires by DiamondBack Classic Tires. Dark red Stayfast top. Red interior and top really "pop" in the sunlight, lots of thumbs-up and "I love your car" comments. This is a PowerGlide car, which means that the rear end ratio is numerically lower than a stick shift car, and it will cruise all day at 70-75 mph. Turn signals and tach. Electric fuel pump has a trick plumbing arrangement and an oil pressure switch wired in, which means that if you're unfortunate enough to have a fender bender the pump will turn off, and not continue to pump. Roller bearing conversion on front axles, new king pins and idler arm hardware. Momentary switch for fuel pump allows you to fill the float bowls so you don't have to crank for 20 seconds to get fuel in the carbs. Engine is a fresh build on a '55 truck block, bored, head milled, cam, dual carbs, dual exhaust, and Pertronix electronic ignition module; engine has full-pressure oiling and insert bearings, not Babbitt bearings and splash oiling. Hardened valve seats. Engine dress-up aluminum and chrome. All three manifolds are chrome-look ceramic coated. This is a very tricked out car which looks very close to stock except for the top and upholstery. Not super fast but will keep up with traffic and handle hills because the engine, as built, has good torque. This is a "Dare to be Different" build, not a belly button car!Milage: 2500 since rebuild!
