1954 one ton, long wheelbase, Suburban 3800 with a Coleman 4x4 conversion. Only one confirmed to be inexistence. (If you happen to know of another long wheelbase Suburban with Coleman 4x4 any production year, anywhere in the world please let me know.)This is NOT a long wheelbase panel truck with aftermarket windows.This is a real Suburban. The motor is a rebuilt 235 CI inline six converted to 12 volt charging system. Four speed manual transmission. The truck starts, drives, steers and stops as it should and it's currently on the road. The Coleman four wheel drive system is complete and fully operational.
Originally, this Suburban was custom built byGM forthe Colombian government in 1954for transporting government officials through the Columbia jungle. Hence the need for heavy duty four wheel drive system. It is a one of a kind long wheelbase Suburban, equipped with ultra rare Coleman 2.5 ton axles. Coleman 4x4 conversion was a more rare and expensive alternative to Napco system back in the 1950's. This truck was imported back from Columbia and restored 10 years ago. The restoration is starting to show it's age mostly by cracks and imperfections in paint, but otherwise the truck is solid and fully functional.
The VIN tag states Maximum GVR rating is 8,800 lbs.
