Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1967

Some guys like to make a grand entrance, but other guys, like the one who built this arrest-me-red 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Pro-Streeter, prefer to kick the door in and shoot off some fireworks when they show up. If that's your style, this is your car, because it's anything but subtle, but the overall look is aggressive, yet tasteful.Perhaps the most significant addition is that giant scoop on the hood; if you're going to carry that kind of firepower, you need to have the look. In that regard, this Camaro is a slam-dunk, because the eyeball-watering red paint is forever deep and just the right shade: not a tomato, not burgundy, but a bright red that nails the look perfectly. The other trick mod is the stretched rear wheel opening, giving this F-body a very clean look that helps disguise the massive hardware underneath. There's also a simple aluminum wing out back, which, we'll admit, screams "race car" but you can't argue with the look. The paint and bodywork were done a few years ago and I don't think the intent was to build a trailer queen, given how well this one runs, but you'll have no problems attracting a crowd with it. Black bumpers, a simple base-model grille, and a minimum of flash give it a purposeful look that shows off the classic Camaro lines quite well. If ever there was a car that embodied speed, this is it.There's just enough race gear inside to make the point that this is no garden-variety Camaro, but it remains very streetable despite the race buckets and cage. For example, there are beautiful aluminum door panels, a full carpet set on the floor, including a fully finished rear area that has been taken over by the polished aluminum wheel tubs. The original gauges remain in the dash, augmented by an Auto Meter monster tach on the steering column and a trio of auxiliary instruments down low, plus a fat steering wheel that totally looks right in the racy interior. The windows are Lexan to shave some pounds and the transmission is managed by a trick B&M shifter that means you'll never miss a gear again. There's more polished aluminum in the trunk, which also offers a race-grade fuel cell and a relocated battery that do their best to help it hook up.Technically, it's still a small, as it's now powered by a 383 cubic inch stroker motor, but it moves like a big block. With a big 4-barrel carburetor on a Weiand intake, plus a set of aluminum heads, it makes enough torque to make those wide-by-huge tires a necessity, and with the low-key cowl-induction air cleaner, it doesn't look as radical as it is. The engine bay is wrapped in more of that gorgeous aluminum tinwork, and like all race powerplants, simplicity is the key, so there's an alternator but manual steering and brakes. A big aluminum radiator with an electric fan cools the beast, and an Accel ignition system lights it up. It's backed by a heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic with a few tweaks inside, as well as a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear that's built for combat. Things are packed in tightly underneath, with the narrowed coil-over rear suspension and Flowmaster exhaust system, but it all works to make this monster streetable and safe. Weld aluminum wheels wear 26x7.5-15 front and 31x16.5-15 Mickey Thompson tires for the full Pro-Street treatment.Nicely built and fully sorted, this Pro-Street '67 Camaro is ready to rumble, and I mean RUMBLE!
