Description for Chevrolet El Camino 1959
This is a great survivor '59 El Camino. Having been well cared for all of these years. this car remains unaltered or modified. Its a base 1100 series with only the most modest of options. That short list includes a heater (apparently that was optional). oil filter and oil bath air cleaner. It remains stock in its frugal presentation including: 235ci 6 cylinder engine. manual 3 speed transmission. manual steering and manual brakes. This car was not equipped with a radio but the always popular factory block off plate resides in its place. And even though this was clearly intended to be a work truck. its use appears to have been quite gentile. The bed is in amazingly good condition. There are no signs of deep gouges. dents or rust. Although it was repainted many years ago. it kept its original colors. The paint has dulled to a really nice low gloss patina and even though there are some isolated areas of chipping and flaking the overall appearance has a really nice vintage look to it. The drivers side fender must have been replaced many years ago (prior to painting) because it has the factory holes in it to accommodate a higher trim level. The interior appears original and quite nice. There is a small split in the bottom of the drivers seat upholstery. The gauges are nice and clear and operate correctly. The truck is showing 36. 54 miles. I have no documentation to support that as actual but it could be. I state that because the shift linkage and steering is nice and tight without excessive slop that would be common with higher miles. This is a great old truck that can be used and enjoyed for many years to come. Please ask questions prior to bidding. I'm happy to go over all of the details of the truck. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and the truck is being sold "as is. where is" without any warranty.
