Description for Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 1981
Ok guys be sure to read the full description. I have, one killer Square body truck I have decided to sale after many hours of work and mega dollars spent. My friend purchased this a few years back from a gentleman that had it since 1989. He blew the truck apart in the early 90s and began his meticulous nut and bolt restoration as you can see by the photos. It was his labor of love until he became ill and could not finish it and a friend of mine ended up buying it from him a few years ago. At that point he began to finish the truck as he is mechanically inclined, he purchased a fresh built 350 engine and a rebuilt 350 turbo which he installed. The truck was 75% done when I purchased it. It has a real killer paint and body job that is second to none, it is a base coat clear coat Torch Red, it is straight as an arrow and as slick as glass and it really pops. I would say the paint job alone is at least $15,000. A few months ago I had my local well known pin striper mildly stripe the truck with the GMC graphic. All of the sheet metal is original to the truck except for the steel cowl hood and new tailgate that I added. This truck was never used for a work truck as you can tell by the inside of the bed, it couldn't have been better when the truck was new. Front and rear bumpers are brand new all lights, bezels, grill, and doorhandles are brand new. Tailgate hinges have also been chromed, all glass has been replaced with new window fussies, belt moldings and all weather strip is new as is all of the interior. It has a brand new set of 20" wheels with new Nitto tires. I have driven this truck about 500 test miles and to cruise ins and it absolutely runs, rides, and drives like a brand new truck, no squeaks and no rattles. I have owned a lot of high end classic cars in my 68 years and I think this one ranks right up there with any of them as far as attention getter and comments and quality, people can't take their eyes off of it. You can not duplicate this truck for less than 45-50 thousand dollars. I have too many things going on right now so I have decided to list it and let someone else do these following thing to it. NOW FOR THE THINGS IT STILL NEEDS, #1The air conditioner, condensor, compresser, everything is hooked up and functional but it does need someone to run the hoses from the compressor to the condenser. This is something that I would have already done although I do not have anyone around my small town that I trust enough to work inside by the inner fenders because their is no scratches, no nicks, no dings, and I'm very particular with my vehicles. #2 It needs an emergency brake cable. #3 The radio is in it and hooked upalthough theirs an amplifier and speakers neatly mounted behind the seat that need to be hooked up. I have really planned on putting a much nicer stereo system in it at some point but I will leave that to the new owner. If you are in range to where you can come look at the truck, I'm sure you will be very impressed and won't be wasting a trip, I think the first person that comes and looks at the truck will be the one to buy it. I have listed a few nice vehicles through eBay through the years and they normally don't last through the seven day auction. My reserve will be very reasonable for the quality of this truck but I am not having a fire sale. I don't have to sell it I would just like to have a little more room. Please do not ask what my reserve is although if the right offer is presented to me I reserve the right to end the auction at any time and may add a 'buy it now" toward the end. Shipping is responsibility of the buyer although I do know a transporter in Somerset Ky that is very reliable and reasonable and I highly recommend him. I will assist in loading. If you like this truck don't wait until the end of the auction or it could be sitting in your neighbors driveway. If you have less than ten feedbacks or more than one recent retraction please contact me before bidding or your bid will be canceled. I don't mean to sound negative but it is very expensive to have a non payer at auction end. Do to the age this vehicle is being sold as is, no warranty implied. I REQUIRE A $2,000 NO REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT THROUGH PAYPAL AT END OF AUCTION AND BALANCE TO BE PAID WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION END, BANK WIRE TRANSFER OR CASH IN HAND, NO EXCEPTIONS
